Free Music Review: Another defining project from Brightman
Hit: 5 Stars

Sarah Brightman has worked steadily to change the public's perception of classical music and create her own style of modern/pop classical. The infusion of pop and dance selections with classical works has defined her and selitified her position as the most succesful soprano in history. Symphony is no exception.

Brightman explores her darker side in this selection, with a very moody lyric. "Fleurs du Mal" sets the gothic mood with a very powerful guitar driven performance which is given the full orchesta treatment, agian fusing the more modern sound with a classical operatic sound. The innocence and sadness of the albums title track "Symphony" comes across as very genuine to the listener. Brightman goes another round with Andrea Bocelli on the absoultely stunning, epic duet "Canto Della Terra" and revisits an English hit for Faith Hill, "There You'll Be", this time it is a duet with Alessandro Safina in Italian "Sarai Qui". The album also showcases some strong classical selections including "Sanvean" which actually is a lyricaly lighter moment on Symphony. Unlike previous obvious themed based projects from Brightman, where setting the theme was done through artwork and tour showcasing, Symphony brings across a rock and Gothic metal sound with the albums darker theme being showcased through the powerful lyrics, a true professional triumph.

Free Music Review: Beautiful "Symphony"
Hit: 5 Stars

Though not my favorite voice, I have to admit Brightman chooses great songs to perform on her albums. However, I much prefer the duets and her classical-pop/original songs over the ballads and solely classical renditions. This is true for the album "Symphony" as well.

The duets are all gorgeous (there are a whopping FOUR duets), especially with the impressive orchestra backgrounds on most of them. The best one by far is "Sarai Qui" featuring Alessandro Safina; it has more passion than even "Pasion." Another pleasant surprise is "I Will be With You" - a duet with Paul Stanley. It sounds particularly "pop"-y, but it's an energenic and melodic song that's fun to listen to. My favorite solo piece is "Symphony."

As for the ballads like "Sanvean," "Schwere Traume," "Storia D'Amore," and "Attessa," while pretty, I felt they were in need of an extra boost of instrumental background. It's easy to lose interest in listening to those songs. Of course, 9 amazing tracks out of 13 isn't bad at all. What most impresses me about Brightman is that the songs she sings in each individual album are eclectic and unique, even when they're remakes. I rate this album, then, below "Time to Say Goodbye" (which I think is her best), and tied at second with "Eden," though right now I'm giving "Symphony" more playing time than either.

Free Music Review: A Beautiful Contradiction
Hit: 5 Stars

She can take us high up into the light, or send us down below into darkness with this album. You can judge for yourself based on the cover alone, and that doesn't even include the music yet!

Fleurs Du Mal has the gothic/metal feel while I WILL BE WITH YOU has the rock/pop styles Brightman fans are so accustomed to. She shows us RUNNING and how well she mixes classical with pop. Nothing new for Brightman there!

But a different sound resonates in her voice, something even I've never heard before: on this album she sounds more vulnerable. Ballads like SYMPHONY or LET IT RAIN truly stand out as amazing songs but Brightman shows off her vulnerability with SCHWERE TRAUME and ATTESA.

Let's not forget the duets!! Andrea Bocelli (CANTO DELLA TERRA), Alessandro Safina (SARAI QUI, Italian version of Faith Hill's "THERE YOU'LL BE), Fernando Lima (PASION), and Paul Stanley of KISS (I WILL BE WITH YOU). These songs are all amazing in their own right though I WILL BE WITH YOU might take some time to get accustomed to, it doesn't fail.

Simply put: Sarah Brightman is everywhere and anywhere with this album. Rock, pop, classical, goth and with her beautiful angelic voice, this album certainly has STYLE written all over it!

Free Music Review: Dramatic music!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I really love this album. She sings like an angel in a song named "Schwere Träume" (Heavy Dreams in English).I appreciate that she tried to sing in German.I think the song "Fleurs Du Mal" is the best in this album. It is like heavy metal rock song.My husband listened to her music for the first time.He thought she is a rock singer!!!My favorite songs are "Fleurs Du Mal","Symphony","Pasión","Running"."Symphony" is so beautifully sad song."Pasión" is a beautiful song with sweet meaning.Unfortunately Fernando Lima's voice is like female voice.(I am so sorry to say this)I feel like Sarah sings this song with another female singer. When I listen to the song " Running",I think of the song "A Question of Honour".They are very similar in style.

I was a bit dissappointed with the song "Canto Della Terra".She should have sung this song in solo version.I have listened to Andrea Bocelli's solo version from Sogno album and I prefer his solo version. When they sing together,Sarah's voice sounds small. It doesn't get along with Andrea Bocelli's powerful voice.

Anyway,I really enjoy her latest album.I recommended this album!!!!

Free Music Review: Gratifying & Powerful!
Hit: 5 Stars

WOW! Another noble and sparkling addition to Sarah Brightman's lifelong journey of unique musical artistry!

If it's true there is nothing new under the sun, as the saying goes, this artist somehow continues to combine instruments, vocals, images, and stories in a way that compels and captures one's heart and soul. Beautiful, personal musical poetry.

Sarah's music is truly incomparable - no one has created so many richly textured visual & musical experiences.

Keep listening until it becomes part of you. Study the lyrics & music for stories of crippling bondage, dark compulsion, poignant loss, sadness, regret, longing, love & passion. It's all there - a "Symphony" of emotion - from delicate tenderness to poundingly fierce passion.

Sarah's music is both restoration and sanctuary - a reminder that life's journey will be hard, but there is a silver lining and higher purpose we may glimpse someday.

Thank you again, Sarah Brightman, for giving the world another intimate & beautiful work of artistry that speaks so eloquently to the human experience.
