Free Music Notes for Inner Sanctum (Bonus Dvd)Free Music Review: Age is no obstacle for this slab of classic metal Hit: 5 Stars
Saxon are alive and well for thirty years now, and for a good reason. Like other metal giants like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, Saxon, even with a few lineup changes, delivers molten rock hard enough to satisfy fans of the newer metal like Shadows Fall or Arch Enemy, and yet bridges the gap with more traditional metal, including real guitar riffs that most bands today don't seem to be able to construct, opting instead for hammering away at a "D" chord over and over.
"The Inner Sanctum" has plenty of great tracks, including the title track and "Let Me Feel Your Power", which ought to do any metalhead justice.
Paul Quinn and Biff Byford remain from the original line-up, and while the sound has morphed over the years, the love of good ol' metal is still present, which allows this venerable outfit to stay in business much longer than posuers of the '80's hair bands did. Also, the bonus live DVD is a nice touch with Saxon giving fine workouts to some older material during a club tour and a few interviews thrown in.
Here's hoping for several more fine albums from a likeable buncha blokes.
Free Music Review: Keep getting better and better, yet no one seems to notice Hit: 5 Stars
It's true. This album is awesome. Saxon was a great band in the 70's/80's during the NWOBHM movement and then they started to dissappear because the studios were forcing them to do the type of music they didn't want to. Honestly, they just got bad management and marketing which is a true shame because they really are a talented group. Probably one of the best metal bands ever but they'll never get the light of day. Yes, they'll always be remembered for 747 "Strangers of the Night" but for the most part, they won't be remembered for stuff later on like this album which is sooooooooo much darker than their earlier stuff but they like Judas Priest can pull it off. I loved Lionheart and when people were saying that this was better, I didn't believe them. But you know what, they're right. It is. This is the type of music that I want to hear but unfortunately, the industry is dying by genetically altered bands who are robots to their record companies. ALL HAIL SAXON FOR NOT SELLING OUT IN THIS DAY IN AGE!!!!
Free Music Review: Yep, Saxon will take young rockers to school Hit: 5 Stars
With a band like Saxon it's hard to say if this album or that album is their best. With an entire generation of some of the best rock and roll ever made it's simply a matter of whether they are on top of their game or not. There is no question about this album, they are on top of their game.
The production is excellent. Lyrics have the usual mystic thought provoking images as well as the brute force power of the rock and roll love affair they've been living forever. Biff delivers these lyrics with dead on talent and power. Biff's voice is a tad raspier than in the younger days but that is not a negative. He sounds excellent. Full range, tough and never better.
They may look a bit Minnesota but they definatley play California
Free Music Review: BEST NEW SAXON CD IN YEARS Hit: 5 Stars
I own every Saxon release ever. Even the rare imports on vinyl and this new cd THE INNER SANCTUM is the very best SAXON cd ever released in some time. It has everything from old Saxon sound to the 90's Saxon sound to the latest Saxon sound all rolled up into one. This cd is a must buy for any true metal fan. SAXON DESERVES ITS DUE. They have put out some great music over the last 35 years and the fact theyre still at it is a testimony to their great music ability on making great hard rock records

for. It's great that they came out with this in thier old form, reminding
me of crusader, strong arm and innocense. This truly is worth buying !!.Oh
