Free Music Review: Get Nappy ...
Hit: 5 Stars

School Daze is not only a great movie but has a great Soundtrack.
Let me commemorate Bill Lee for his great Jazz Orchestra compositions. Straight and Nappy will make you wanna go comb your hair. It features Tisha Cambell(Gina from the TV show Martin) and Kyme as Soloist as well as other girls in the movie. As the saxophone and trumpet soloist trade fours you'll wanna dance around the room with your hot comb and curling iron (I did, just kidding). The Little Acorn Song makes you reflect on lonely times and is real touching. Other songs like "I'm building me a home, song by the Morehouse Glee Club will definetly take you back to your Gospel roots. This is most definetly the CD to buy.

Free Music Review: The Greatest Soundtrack of All-Time!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Even though this soundtrack is more than 15 years old, the music on it is timeless. Maybe I'm a little biased because School Daze is my favorite movie of all-time but this soundtrack is a must have!! Like countless others I had been looking for this soundtrack for years & amazon.com saved the day! I bought two copies of it just in case I messed one up & it went out of print again.I used to be in front of the TV all day singing & dancing to the movie. My favorites to perform were Be Alone Tonight (Tisha Campbell rocked this song) & Straight & Nappy. I even wrapped myself with aluminum foil in an attempt to re-create the dress Tisha had on in Be Alone Tonight (LOL!)

Hit: 5 Stars

I finally bit the bullet and got this disc - I already have it in vinyl but put off getting the cd till now. I concur with everyone else's opinions about this being a great soundtrack to a terrific, thought provoking movie. The funny thing is that the music is truly timeless and no song sounds like an '80s track.

My fave tracks are: 'Be Alone Tonight'; 'We've Already Said Goodbye', 'Straight & Nappy', 'I'm Building Me a Home' and 'Be One'.

Go ahead and take a chance if you don't already have this disc in your collection - you can't beat the price! And take a previous poster's suggestion and get the movie too if you've never seen it.

Free Music Review: College was never this good!
Hit: 5 Stars

I saw this film on 4 different occasions back in '88 as a college student and I have yet to find a soundtrack with as much diversity, spirit and drive as this. After the first viewing, I immediately went out and purchased the cassette, wore it out and eventually replaced on CD. All of the music is excellent and was incorporated into the film perfectly. "Be Alone Tonight" should have been a much bigger hit than it turned out to be. Tisha Campbell should go into the studio more often. Buy this and play it loud and often as I do.

Free Music Review: This is a great sleeper!
Hit: 5 Stars

I was told that this CD was out of print; I am glad that it can now be bought. All of the songs are excellent, but the two that really move me are "I'm building me a home" and "I can only be me". "Home" is a moving gospel/spiritual song that is guranteed to stir the soul. If anyone can pull of "I can only be me" at Showtime at the Apollo, I'm sure they'd win! It kind of has that D. Hathaway feel; the vocalist reminds me of the guy from Buckshot LeFonque.

Excellent Buy!
