Free Music Notes for Schoolhouse Rock! RocksFree Music Review: Very cool Hit: 5 StarsI'm a huge Schoolhouse Rock fan, so this album was definitely a treat. The songs are already classics, so the individual artists' interpretations take center stage here. Another good thing about this CD is that in many ways it sums up the sound of 1996 in rock, alternative, techno, R&B. There's some fun stuff here, and it all starts with the original theme music, just to add a little more irony to the disc. A great buy.
Free Music Review: Probably not for Everyone But... Hit: 5 StarsAs with any collaborative effort, there are a few throwaways, but the great tracks far outweigh the duds. Moby's version of "Verb" is just absolutely phenomenal, and I was shocked that I enjoyed Skee-Lo's contribution so much. Man or Astro-Man?, Buffalo Tom, Daniel Johnston, Ween, The Lemonheads, and Blind Melon all stick pretty close to the originals and do a terrific job. Definitely worth having, if you're a Schoolhouse Rock/AlternaRock fan... 'Cause knowledge is power!!
Free Music Review: It really does ROCK! Hit: 5 StarsGreat CD...if you like(d) School House Rock. Just a Bill and Interplanet Janet are the Best tracks. The variety of artists makes it even more fun.
Free Music Review: Moby, Goodness, and Blind Melon give new life to favorites Hit: 4 StarsMoby, Goodness, and Blind Melon give new life to the old favorites from Schoolhouse Rock. They make the CD worth buying, but note that a few of the tracks are less stellar.
