Free Music Review: Correct the timing

The earlier reviewer who complains about this disc clocking in "at under 45 minutes," and therefore considers it overpriced, must be using a very strange clock, indeed. Or a strange set of aesthetic standards, more to the point.
In the first place, when dealing with playing of this quality, the timing should be an irrelevance; Perahia, as is usual with him, provides both beautiful and penetrating performances of these works, and though I am very fond of the Richter performance (and of a couple of others I could name, Clifford Curzon's, for one), I don't think there is a better performance available. By all means, buy this cd--especially at the low 'used' price, and enjoy its beauty and perfection. Tom Dillingham
