Free Music Notes for Scissor Sisters

Free Music Review: Don't Listen To Them
Hit: 5 Stars

I believe the scissor sisters are one of the most original acts to explode on to the scene in years. Sure they have done a cover or 2, but every artist as done so, or "stolen hooks" from other songs. I believe the public should only critisce music if it is geniunlly outdated, down right bad, or "William Hung". Not bcuase they are being original and pioneers with the outright gay image and openness, which a lot more artist should follow, instead of denying who they are, and for the amnerican public that has issues with it, maybe they should wake up and look at their own lives before they critise other people whic are obviouslly more succesfull then them.

Free Music Review: Glam pop!
Hit: 5 Stars

Omigosh, this is just brilliant!! It is a grower. The first couple of times I played it, I wondered what all the fuss was about a few Elton John sounding songs and some disco songs, but repeated playing revealed what a clever and beautiful cd this is.

'Comfortably numb' sounds like an electronic Bee Gees. 'Laura', 'Mary', and the lush, epic 'Return to Oz' sound like very brilliant, modern, Elton John stuff. 'Take your mama out' is a retro rock/soul number.

Very clever lyrics, unexpected twists in musical direction, and a great sense of humour aptly describes this cd. Definitely a strong contender for best album of 2004.

Free Music Review: My Number One of 2004
Hit: 5 Stars

From the rollicking opener, "Laura," to the coming-out-to-mom-at-a-gay-bar anthem "Take Your Mama Out," to the cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," the album kicks off with three solid radio singles and never lets go. There was no timelier song in the year of Janet than "T*ts on the Radio," no funnier song than "Music is the Victim," no more danceable ode to a tryst mate who will never be anything more than "Better Luck," no more glam-tastic paean to casualties of too many crystal hits at gay clubs than "Return to Oz." I could go on rattling off superlatives about this album, but take my word: this is the wildest ride of the year.

Free Music Review: Love it!
Hit: 5 Stars

I am in love with this album! Its FUN music that makes you wanna be crazy and dance! AND they have such a variety of sounds including disco, club, piano(almost elton john style), etc.The funny thing is, is I don't even like disco or much club music! And for all of you people who say this album sucks than why did you buy it?? The style is obvious- if you didn't like Take Your Mama than it was obvious you wouldn't like the album! Its not like one of those tricky albums that you like the hit, buy the cd, and rest of the songs don't live up to the hit....every song on this album is unique and awesome!(for lack of a better adjective)

Free Music Review: Amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this CD because they play "Mary" and "filthy/gorgeous" here (the UK) all the time. Normally I ignore most of the junk they play on the UK stations because they're bad remixes of bad American 80's music (this coming from an American citizen). I heard these songs and RAN to buy this CD. It has only continued to impress me. "Laura" is an amazing song, as is song 10 (can't remember the name!). I also love to dance to "take your mama out". Their genre is so tough to describe, though. A bit of pop, disco, Elton John, and a bit extra something else. I would definitely recommend this if you have an open taste in music.
