The first time I saw this group's video, I was thinking that they were nothing more than B-52s wannabes. However, as I heard the CD, I realized that they are one of the most clever bunch of musicians around. They drink from every source. You can find traces of 80s pop, lots of Elton John and some brands of Europop masterfully mixed there. I mean, you really have to be a brilliant band to take "Comfortably numb", turn it into a retro Europop festival with tributes to Donna Summer and gay undertones and really pull it off. I think this CD is going to be the next big thing in clubs, funner and smarter than any pop around.Free Music Review: Amazon instruct people on the rating system

Scissor Sisters is a five-piece disco band strongly influenced by the gay-club scene of New York. They write their own music and are responsible for reviving the disco scene that was so popular in the 1970s. This debut album is a brilliant mix of a little bit of Elton, a little bit of Bee Gees, and a whole lotta disco. My favorite track is their cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb." They take one of the worst songs in rock history and turn it into their own creation. What's not to like about Scissor Sisters? If you're looking for something new and different this is the CD for you! Also, there was only one song on this disc that I didn't really care for which makes it a rare find as well as a bargain. Scissor Sisters' music is influenced by a little bit of everything and their blended interpretation makes them stand out. I loved the backdrop to the song "Laura" which sounded french cafe with a twist. Almost each and every song was a new experience and they all made me smile and wanta dance around the room. Even the cover of "Comfortably Numb" was unexpected. Way to go Scissor Sisters!Free Music Review: Its a great Album to own for todays standards.

Its truly different! In a time when everything sound the same from hip hop to punk. These are sound that are freash to ones ears. It breaks away from the pop music that we hear over and over again from every artist like JLo, britney, ashanti, usher, and many others.
If your like me and like to break away from the norm and like things that are different then this one may be for you. If you do like the music from the days when music was music then you will enjoy this too.
