This cd is like a new kind of tribute album. It's a hats off to all their favorites, all jumbled up, and then spit out into a really great songs that are all their own. Their influences are very very obvious, and seems as though they are meant to be. You hear amped up versions of Elton, George Michael, David Bowie, BeeGees and Pink Floyd all mixed together in their own songs. This album is about fun, and yes, about shamelessly being in love with other people's music. If you don't have a sense of humor, Scissor Sisters is going to be completely lost on you.Free Music Review: unfortunately 2 thumbs up

well, after seeing them on snl... i thought i would get the album. and what a good buy!! obviously, this group is more flamboyant then sir elton himself, they can deffinitely rock out. not something your gona roll down your windows and let other people around u rock out to. (unless your completely comfortable with your sexuality) :) but if your in the mood for some smiles, and a good techno beat behind it, i would suggest this album. p.s. , im a HUGE fan of pink floyd, and i still think their cover of C.N. is tight. one of the better remakes ive heard.Free Music Review: WOW!!!

My taste in music is eclectic to say the least.... 40's standards to pop to country to K.D. Lang to Rock etc.....
This band blew my mind by virtue of their creativity! They're all over the place - all the influences mentioned by other reviewers show and then some! One of the first albums by contemporary artists in years that I play stop to finish without skipping any tracks! All I can say is that if you find yourself intrigued by the debut single "Take your Mama out" then DO NOT HESITATE to purchase the CD, you WILL NOT be sorry!

I've knowticed nabby people get excited over this fresh formula group.
Well, I say I can imagine.
They do a cool over of Campy Numbs by the Pink floyd. No wonder it is a success. The tempo is 100000000 better than the somewhat tame original and the vocals are SUPERIOR to the nasal wine of Rodger Winters.
Other terrific dance and groove tracks are it can't come quickly enough retutn to oz, mary, laura,

The tendency with Scissor Sisters is to lump them in with Franz Ferdinand, and they do have their retro similarities, but Scissor Sisters is by far the better band. I've been listening to this disc for 6 months now and have not grown tired of it. This is more than I can say for the vast majority of 2004's releases. They are masters of the hook and most their songs are hard to keep from dancing to. Some may criticize that as being too poppy or commercial, but when you do it with the flair that this band does, I call it art.
