I find it superficial and silly the majority of the haters here are the obvious repeat posts from the "kids" review" posts, bashers of the Floyd re-make(Listened by and approved by Floyd), and gay haters. The vast majority here loves the album.In a decade where being gay is pretty much as mainstream and normal as anything else("Will & Grace," "Brokeback Mountain"), it really shouldn't matter if a band is gay or not. If you knew how many of your "str8" bands were in the closet you'd faint. Hide it, right? WRONG! The Scissor Sisters are a breath of fresh air, combining so many genres, you cannot label them. 2004 might have seen their debut album sell more in Europe, but it's 2006 now, the debut is almost gold in the U.S. and the new album in May will do very well.And, yes, Jake Spears does sound awesome live. He is adorably sexy too. Anna is amazing! The entire band is amazing in concert, creating a very rock style vibe.I'm 38, and lived through many decades of music, and I adore this band.Free Music Review: wow

The first time I heard them was on SNL, and i was impressed. They blew me away, I wanted to hear more. So i went out and bought the cd, not knowing that what i was about to hear was going to be one of the best experiences with a cd i have had in a long time.
Scissor Sisters blend 70's rock acts like Elton John, and Supertramp, with 70's disco music, mainly The BeeGees.
This is done very successfully.
Hearing their version of Pink Floyd's classic Comfortably Numb, i was surprised to hear it Disco-fied, and also to my surprise, i actually liked it!! No, their version is not as good as Pink Floyd's beautiful version, but when is a cover ever better???
What makes this cd even better, is that...my mom liked it! Usually my mom doesnt like my music, so it says something when she actually likes a band that i do.
PLEASE PICK THIS ALBUM UP YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Dear Scissor Sisters;
Thank you for coming along. You have made me a very happy boy. Those who have criticized you simply don't understand your recipe for a hot pop album: take a dollop of old school Elton, a pinch of pre-UPTOWN GIRL Billy Joel, a bump of Prince and hey-hey-hey. . . Thank you for coming to the aid of the current musical drought this sad old globe is suffering from. "Take Your Mama Out" gives me the goosies. . . I want to take "Mary" intravenously. . . And (by the way) can Del Marquis come over to play? (He's purdy.)

Free Music Review: In These Times, A Breath Of Fresh Air

Okay, I know the Pink Floyd purists are going to go crazy about the 'desecreation' of one if their beloved songs, but all that aside, this really is a great group to have burst onto the scene. In this day and age where every other song on the radio is some rapper talking about how great is car is or how easy it is for him to get women, or the next song is some girl that can't control herself because this boy she met is so hot, it's nice to hear a group that has some actual DEPTH in their lyrics. I like these guys for the same reason that I like Maroon5; their music has some substance, it's fun to listen to, and from watching them on SNL, we've finally found a band that HAS FUN with their music. And the videos too, those are great. You should buy the Scissor Sisters because it's leaps and bounds above the crap they play on Top 40 stations.Free Music Review: Filthy Gorgeous

I am a music savant. Scissor Sisters have been in my cd player constantly since Sept. of this year. I also had the pleasure of seeing Scissor Sisters live in Sept. at a quaint lil bar in Philadelphia called Khyber Pass (and was close enough to have Jake's and Ana's sweat fling on me!). All I can say is that Scissor Sisters R-O-C-K! Their live show is f***ing fantastic. I have not been this excited about a new group since forever. They have true presence and star magnetism. Their music is fun, serious, lyrical, danceable, retro, progressive. They carry on the '70's GLAM tradition. If you don't or won't understand them you are missing THE NEXT BIG THING (think B-52'S,)... check 'em out in NYC Dec. 19th. make sure to be FILTHY GORGEOUS...and yes that is me and 10 of my closest friends arriving in a limo looking simply fabulous!!! ;-)
