Free Music Notes for Scissor Sisters

Free Music Review: The suprise of 2004: The most fun I've had all year!
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this cd after listening to a few samples only to be blown away by the continuity of the entire album and the range of sounds and styles it exudes, bringing back the fun of the 70s and 80s synth pop to the radio again! Every song on this cd is "radio friendly" and when I brought this to work, everyone asked who the group was. I responded, "Scissor Sisters", and they were most pleasantly entertained by the name - but ultimately, it was the music pumping from the speakers that they so much enjoyed. It definitely will appeal to those who seek the influences of the Bee Gees, Elton, George Michael, Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys with a modern twist. A definite buy for all of you seeking something different and fun to listen to! Enjoy.

Free Music Review: First album to inspire a review from me
Hit: 5 Stars

I'll start by saying my musical tastes range from ABBA to Rob Zombie and yet this is the first CD to inspire a review from me EVER! Yes you won't be able to listen and not compare to Elton John or the BeeGee's, but I'm not particular fans of either. However, this is taking the best of their 70's pop/rock and adding a beat actual FORCES you to move to the music. It was something I stumbled across and listened to on the net in full and was just amazed. I'm not fan of today's club music...and as "gay disco" as some will describe this to be...it is EXACTLY what would get me to walk into a club again and enjoy. SHOCKINGLY INCREDIBLE is all I can say...a must listen. You will most likely HATE or RUN to the store to purchase...enjoy!

Free Music Review: Half the one-star reviews here are useless...
Hit: 5 Stars

I am just going to write a short review, not even really about the music:

Listen to the four songs that you can in their entirety (Mary, Filthy/Gorgeous, Laura, Take Your Mama), and listen to the samples of the rest. If you like what you hear, give it a shot; if you don't like what you hear, then avoid it at all costs.

All the one star reviewers are biased and don't give it a good chance. Not just that, but they don't really say anything except, "this is bad, don't buy it," which really doesn't help the buying public.

Also, these people piss me off because they compare bands that aren't similar.

All in all, I can write a one sentence summary; listen to the music and samples first.

I have been waiting for sometihing fresh to happen to pop music since Nirvana arrived. Scissor Sisters is just that. I haven't stopped listening to this album since I bought it last weekend, after seeing them on Saturday Night Live. The influences are tremendous....Elton John, Roxy Music, Supertramp, DeLite, The Bee Gee's, Bowie (when he was gay), and Rocky Horror. This album is fun, campy, delightful, energetic, and light-hearted. Stop trying to over analize them. Don't take a Pink Floyd cover too seriously, this is NOT the frist Disco cover of Comfortably Numb ya know, it's all in campy fun. I mean come on, it not like Madonna redoing American Pie. Now that was a crime. I love them and can hardly wait for the next album......

Free Music Review: let them rock, long.
Hit: 5 Stars

it really is degrading to see sleeping fluid fans go crazy over this fnatsatic album.
I must say it is better than everything floyd did between 1972-1992.

Flopyd has its heyday with Umma and AHM but was over soon after that. Meddle was so-so and so was OBC.

Scissor sisters seems to be having its heyday right now. It is an amzing band FULL OF JOY AND KINKINESS (BOTH SOMETHINGS THE FLOYD NEVER HAD). i like them and applaud them for brinmgng to life ONE OF THE MOST HORRENDOUS 70S SONGS "CAMPY DUMB" AND GIVE IT THE MUCH NEEDED KICK-IN-THE-CROTCH (...) (...)

(....)

AMEN!

SCISSOR SISTERS RULES.
70S MUSIC IS FOR FOOLS! LIKE STOLED CRASS JUVENILES
