Free Music Review: Acoustic Scorpions, promising!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow, the Scorpions are here in 2001, and they still know how to make live music. Acoustic this time, which means almost only ballads are played, well it is very good, and all the songs are have nice acoustic sounds. Catch Your Train is very swinging, with the piano, and Holiday has a very specific sound, which is a little swinging as well. There are some new songs too, so if you can, buy it. you won't regret that.
Keep On Rocking!!!

Free Music Review: Its about artistic creativity stupid!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a fabulous live acoustic album which will be really enjoyed by anyone that likes Neil Young and UFO (ie broad taste). It will not be enjoyed by people that only like UFO and Nirvana.

Free Music Review: Somewhere between 3.5 and a 4 star'er
Hit: 4 Stars

I don't know what is with me and Acoustic/Unplugged releases and how they are presented. Not even close to a Nirvana production, but yet, still good. Do I agree with some of the choices of songs...obviously not. But I am intrigued with this.....along with shows involving STP. It is stripped down and I actually think it works.....if they had carefully thought this out, I would have rated higher.

Let me say this, before continuing to read on. I am not a Mega-Scorpions fan. I havn't bought every release they ever produced. I have owned maybe (3) of their releases over time.

I do like a majority of the so-called "Stripped Down" versions of classic material. Songs like "Holiday", I have a mixed feelings about. On one hand, I like what they did, BUT, I still miss the Live Interaction with the concert goers this song has generated before in the past. Not the case here.

Things about this I do not like......1 of 3 decent covers which could have easially replaced original material. "Love of my Life" is more than suitable for my taste. After that....no thank you! Other things......not the complete show. Should not have to say more.

Is it a Must.....probably not....but, its still a good listen, from time to time. And if you can tolerate watching many quick shots of an attractive dancer, than check out the video version of this release!?!?!?!?

Free Music Review: Acoustica
Hit: 3 Stars

When MTV was releasing the MTV Unplugged albums, I dreamed about the day when Scorpions could have their own acoustic album. With so many great acoustic songs, they could have easily filled an entire set with songs like "When the Smoke Is Going Down", "Born to Touch Your Feelings", "Lonely Nights", "When You Came Into My Life", "Under the Same Sun", and many, many more. Unfortunately, many of these songs aforementioned songs never made it onto Acoustica...instead Scorpions played several cover songs, which was not necessary since Scorpions have plenty of their own material to play. Nirvana just did not have enough material of their own to create an entire set of fully acoustic numbers, but those songs they covered worked well (if not even sounding better than the originals!). Like with Moment of Glory, some songs work well with an orchestra or fully acoustic set, and some songs don't. Harder songs like Rock You Like A Hurricane and Catch Your Train just don't work very well without the electricity and amps. "Catch Your Train" was (at first) pleasing to see that they pulled out this old classic, but it was "honkey-tonkey-fied" and sounds HORRIBLE.

Some of the songs like "Holiday" and "Send Me An Angel" were changed, which was somewhat interesting, but not particularly memorable.

This album had plenty of potential, but I feel that it did not come off nearly as well as it could have. With the large repertoire of songs at their disposal, Scorpions could have easily created a two hour set of beautiful acoustic melodies. Instead, what was sadly put out is one of the least memorable Scorpions albums. I have been listening to Unbreakable nearly non-stop for the past several weeks since its release, yet I have barely listened to Acoustica in the three years I've had the album. Live albums such as World Wide Live and Tokyo Tapes present Scorpions in a much better light in what they are capable live, as one of the best live acts ever.

Free Music Review: Love this CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I only give my personal opinion, and I really enjoy this CD. Some people complain that this is too soft for Scorpions, but personally I prefer ballads and soft rock, not a hard core rock, and I even made my own compilation only from the ballads. So it's like they've heard me and made this CD. I also like the acoustic version of the songs, sounds kind of different. I only wish there were more songs, otherwise, just perfect.
