Free Music Notes for Acoustica

Free Music Review: Watered down drivel.
Hit: 1 Stars

All these song belong on light rock radio. The Scorpions hit a low with this one. Skip it or borrow it from a friend.

Free Music Review: Really Like this Cd
Hit: 5 Stars

If you want Heavy Scorpions, this is not the Cd for you!
If your a fan of the Scorps Ballads then go ahead and Buy this one. If you think that Acoustical sets should all be heavy and loud, this your mistaken, Scorps finally have a way of showing us the raw talent of Rudolph and Mathias, and of course Klauss vocals are flawless.
Some new songs and some new versions of old songs of course,
and some delightful suprise covers of a few of the greats like "Dust in the Wind" and "Drive" Both songs respectably done with taste and original depth.
Over all......Scorpions have put together something very original with their talents, and I am very pleased!!

Free Music Review: The Berlin Symphony CD rocked, this one does not!
Hit: 1 Stars

There's a reason why this CD has not been released in the U.S. yet--it's the weakest Scorpions production to date! Going unplugged is a great idea if it is produced and mixed correctly. (An example of excellent production is the KISS Unplugged CD.) Where are the guitars on this Scorpions CD? More focus is given to the female backup singers and the synthesized background effects on some songs. These "unplugged" songs are way too slick and over-orchestrated. Some of these versions are closer to lounge music and easy listening than rock. I will say that Klaus' voice sounds fantastic, but his efforts are ruined by the sugar-sweet background singers doing the chorus parts! I was looking forward to hearing new and different versions of these songs, but this CD has no "WOW" factor for me at all. I've been following the Scorps since the late 70's and this was really a letdown. I do agree with many of the other reviewers that it is way past time for the band to record a new studio LP!

Free Music Review: One Of The Best Albums Ever!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have never heard such beautiful arrangements for an acoustic album!! scorps old songs just rules in this album with the new style, and the new ones and the covers are cool!!!! I really like "When love kills love" where the harmonies are soooo great, and "Life is too short" that touches so deep!!! hope it's gonna be the next single!!! the performance is just perfect!!! and the crowd's emotions are amazing!!!

Free Music Review: Interesting, but weak.
Hit: 3 Stars

Acoustic albums by rock bands normally give us the opportunity to listen to normally electrified tracks in a new fashion. But the Scorpions choose to play mostly their ballads (of which they write WAY too many), which sound almost identical to the original tracks. For those of us waiting for the Scorpions to come to their senses and put out a solid hard rocking album, well, we will continue to wait. But it seems the band has permanently gone into a much softer direction. The album is not all that bad, it's just not all that good either. Most of the songs sound way too wimpy such as "I Wanted to Cry (But the Tears Wouldn't Come)", the title alone makes me nauseous. "The Zoo", the opening track, is a standout with a good arrangement and rocking groove, but the classic "Rock You Like a Hurricane" sounds incredibly lame, the song does NOT transfer well to the acoustic arrangement. However, on the plus side Klaus Meine's vocals are still in top form and there's an interesting cover of Kansas' "Dust In The Wind" with a more upbeat tempo. In closing, recommended for die-hard Scorpions fans only.
