Free Music Notes for Bad For Good: The Very Best of Scorpions

Free Music Review: A hurricane of rock from the Fatherland!
Hit: 5 Stars

The Scorpions are definitely one of the greatest and most successful rock bands to emerge out of Germany, and they prove it to you 18 times of on this collection "Bad For Good: The Very Best of Scorpions". Now as you may realize, this is not an absolutely perfect compilation. There is, after all, the three-disc "Box of Scorpions" that goes for around 35 bucks or so. But hey, if you're planning on spending that much money, it might as well be on the original albums, right? Anyway...
This compilation has everything, packing a big, German-styled melodic-metal punch that delivers the goods. From the powerhouse rockers of "Blackout", "No One Like You", "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "Big City Nights", to the beautiful ballads of "Send Me An Angel", "Wind of Change" or "Still Loving You", and the slower, more progressive tracks like "Loving You Sunday Morning" and "The Zoo" this album has plenty of greats.
In addition, it comes with two new songs, the balladic "Bad For Good" and the talk-box guitar riff driven "Cause I Love You". Plus, the album comes complete with great linter notes, photos of the band, and pictures of their ever-ridiculous album covers! So if you wanna get into the Scorpions, this is a great place to start. Thanks for the time, and peace.

Free Music Review: Very nice selection

I forgot how much I like their stuff. Even my two year old daughter loves it.

Free Music Review: Not as good as I would have liked
Hit: 3 Stars

This is not a bad alblum, but I think that there are far better Scorpion songs that the could have included on this CD.

Free Music Review: 1/2--Good song choice, but several disappointments
Hit: 3 Stars

I love the Scorpions. They are my favorite heavy metal band. They are one of the few German rock bands to ever exist. I've never heard of any other German rock bands, to be honest.

And, they have TONS of hits compilations. Some unnecessary ('20th Century Masters,' 'Best of Rockers n' Ballads'), some decent ('Deadly Sting,' 'Big City Nights') and some flawless ('Gold'), they are so influential.

And, then there's this one.

This isn't a bad Scorps set, but there could be some major changes here. The new tracks are definitely worth getting, but why edit 'Still Loving You'? That awesome Rudolf Schenker-Matthias Jabs guitar solo is simply amazing, and yet THEY EDITED THAT PART OUT!!! Ugh! Come on Hip-O!!!

And there are many missing songs. Where is 'Steamrock Fever,' 'Can't Live Without You,' 'In Trance,' 'Another Piece of Meat,' or even 'Lovedrive'?

But, there are some great songs here, nonetheless. 'Rock You Like A Hurricane,' 'No One Like You,' and 'Rhythm of Love' are still here, and those were major Scorps hits in the '80s.

Overall, if you are an easily pleased casual Scorps fan, than this is a great set for you. Otherwise, go for the big one and buy 'Gold.'

Recommended, but only for really casual fans.

Free Music Review: Blast from the past!
Hit: 4 Stars

Several things drew me into this recording besides the cover!( pic reminds me of the way my girlfriend dresses sometimes as well ) When I opened it and put the disc inside my player,I started to have some flashbacks of when I had several of these albums when I was growing up as a teenager! I made a copy and sent it off to a girl I know that is miles away from here and she fell in-love with the recording and continued to fall in-love with me for sending her the copy! Yea,some songs are worth passing, but there are afew that bring back alot of memories and the Scorpions continue to still be talked about to this day! ( always did enjoy there covers ) They add that 'extra'touch that is missing within one's life too!! Crank it up folks and enjoy a blast from the past!! :-)
