Free Music Notes for Humanity Hour 1Free Music Review: Scorpions Pack a Six String Sting!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
True to their name, the Scorpions never fail to amaze us with their unique blend of "heavy rock." The song writing ability of Meine/Schenker, five brilliant musicians and one of the very well-known producers combine to make Humanity Hour 1 a delightful listening experience. "Hour 1" begins with Kottak's drums (ala Megadeth's TRUST) before the rest of the band joins in. "Humanity" "Game of life" "We were born to fly" represent a good blend of melodies and powerful riffs...my favorite being "The Cross" cuz of its infectious rhythm and guitar work!
As Klaus Meine sang in Lovedrive "I'd like to show why scorpions got a sting..." they sure do! Happy listening folks :-)
Free Music Review: Yes, all these 5 star reviews are right! Hit: 5 Stars
This is an outstanding album from the Scorpions. How good is it to have a new set of brilliant songs from a band that has been around for a very long time that blows away the competition! This album has all the boxes ticked: great songs, great lyrics, great production, and great album flow. The teaming of the Scorpions with Desmond Child was always going to be an exciting prospect but they have really worked well together to make this excellent album a modern classic. I am definitely one very satisfied customer! I hope other bands try to use this project as an example of what is possible when care is taken with all aspects of an album.
Free Music Review: Scorpions' best release since Crazy World if not best one ever Hit: 5 Stars
This is my favourite Scorpions album up to date.
Scorpions reinvent themselves here with new updated sound which is darker and heavier while keeping the melodies softer when songs call for it,without being cheesy.
The band sounds really good with thundering drum work of James Kottak and bass guitar Pawel Maciwoda, heavy and melodic guitars by Mathhias Jabs and Rudy Schenker while Klaus Meine vocals stay flawless.
Songs Hour 1,Game of Life,The Cross and title track Humanity stand out,but there is no fillers here, every song is amazing.
Well done Scorpions!
Looking forward to Humanity Hour II
Free Music Review: Best Album of 2007 Hit: 5 Stars
This is, bar none, the best album of 2007. You will love it and so will your kids.
'321' , 'Humanity', and 'Hour 1' are as good as any hard rocking head banging songs in the last 25 years. 'The Cross' is a wonderful, angry, rock attack on clergy using Theological cliches ("take up your cross..") as the method. 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' is a lovely old school ballad.
Its truly sad that mainsteam music in the US has become so poor that this album will not have a chance to rise to the popular level it deserves. But do yourself a favor and get it.
Klaus Meine is flawless vocally.
Free Music Review: KILLER TUNES & LYRICS Hit: 5 Stars
Not since perhaps their last CD has there been a band who's stayed SO true to their 'sound' without selling out or going commercial. This project is REAL SCORPIONS - heart-wrenching ballads with clever multi-layered lyrics that can be interpreted any way you wish. Tight music and harmonies that PROVE again that those with true talent will rock on with a semi-original member band after about 30 years....Mind blowing riffs, art in the form of solos and orchestration. Boundless energy, creative minds collaborated again to bring it all home at no risk of offending anyone. Their most loyal fan/friend, ENJOY ALL!
