Free Music Notes for The Best of Scorpions (Millennium Collection - 20th Century Masters (Eco-Friendly Packaging))Free Music Review: Not Bad Hit: 3 StarsThis is the first Scorpions CD i bought just to fill my collection, and it covers most of their hits.
Free Music Review: Missing a few songs, but definitely worth the price Hit: 4 StarsI've in recent years been moving farther and farther away from my love of glam and been moving onto Thrash Metal bands such as Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax. However, the glam rock band from Germany known as The Scorpions are still among my top 5.
I've recently purchased this album from my local Walgreens (pharmacy or not, they have a good rock music selection), and found out that the "Scorpions" weren't known just for "Rock you like a hurricane" (the reason I bought the album). I would really have to believe the that "Rock you like a hurricane", "No one like you", and "Big City Nights", and "The rhythm of love" are the strong points of this compilation, however every song is worthy of being called good and/or fair.
While there are better Scorpions albums out there, (mostly because it's missing some good songs) I do suggest buying this album totally 100%. It's produced with excellent audio quality, and just full of great songs. It's a small greatest hits album perfect for the starting Scorpions fan.
Buy this album today.
Free Music Review: Schpinal Tap? Hit: 4 Stars
I've heard many of these Scorpions songs over the years and thought they were the kind of band that Spinal Tap was spoofing. But when I recently heard "The Zoo" blaring out from the local classic rock station (and could not help myself from singing along), I wondered about the odds of a German band becoming superstars in the U.S. So I picked up this CD and I'll be darned if I didn't become a convert after a few listens. This is incredibly catchy stuff. What makes it even cooler is Klaus Meine's heavily German-accented vocals. No chance you'll be able to duplicate that on Karaoke night.
Free Music Review: Hilarious, funniest CD ever !!!!! Hit: 1 StarsFrom the juxtaposition in the title of "20th Century Masters" with "Best of Scorpions" , through each of the songs the laughs never end.
This is a perfect CD. If you are Beavis or Butthead you can rock out, if you have a brain you can laugh your a*s off at the indescribable suckitude of Scorpions.
Seriously though, I expected more from this CD given Germany's long history of extraordinary pop music.
Free Music Review: Great collection of hit tracks for a new Scorpions fan Hit: 4 StarsThe Best of Scorpions: The Millenium Collection from the 20th Century Masters series is a great CD for those fans who want to get know what the Scorpions are all about. You can't really complain about the cost; the track list makes it definitely worth the price.
The 2 most commercially-successful albums "Love At First Sting" (Rock You Like A Hurricane, Big City Nights, Still Loving You) and "Crazy World" (Tease Me Please Me, Wind Of Change, Send Me An Angel) are well-represented here. Although, having 2 tracks from the sub-par "Savage Amusement" (Rhythym of Love, Believe In Love) and only 1 from the vastly-superior "Blackout" (No One Like You) is a joke.
If you want a decent selection of great songs from one of the better rock bands of the 80s and 90s but don't want to spend a lot of cash, get your hands on this disc. If you want a more complete collection of great Scorpions music and don't mind spending a little more, pick up the 3-disc "Box Of Scorpions" set instead of this.
