Free Music Notes for Seal IV

Free Music Review: Seal=Music!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Seal to me is one of the few artist out there making real music or at least exploring "music" to the fullest; i enjoy every type of music, and Seal can actually manage to fullfill my taste, from awsome techno mixes from his songs, to reggea, to awsome pop rythmic songs to some of the most beautiful romantic songs and other songs that to my are spiritual, not that i am spiritual at all, but here is an artist that with his lyrics and style of music flow through your ears like if it was a Confucius saying that make you think about life and at the same time make you jam, "In a sky full of people, only some want to fly,Isn't that crazy?..", Seal has evolutionized as an artist i think, from his first album to the second and so on, we see that in his Human Beings was his worst economically speaking album, but i think its probably his best because he sings some of his most beautifully lyrical songs and they seem to reflect a time when he spoke directly from his heart, and then we come to Seal IV, in which we see a cooler Seal more into the times and manages to make you jam like ever before with awsome songs like waiting for you, my vision, and let me roll, then there is his Grammy nominated song Love's Divine, one of his best songs up to date, and then we have Loneliest Star and Heavenly..(good feeling) which after hearing them every time i just cant think of any other song which makes me wanna actually walk through life every day and tackle every obstackle the day offers me, and to tell you the truth i dont know why, i guess its the magic of Seal, and you just have to listen to him to find out why....

Free Music Review: This is comming from someone who wasn't a Seal fan
Hit: 5 Stars

What can I say? I didn't hate Seal, but the only songs that I liked were "prayer for the dying", and "crazy". There's just something about this record that I like better and I have only heard about half of the songs on it. I tuned in because of "waiting for you" but the song that really got me hooked was "Love's divine" that one has classic written all over it. Needless to say, if you are already a Seal fan there's no reason not to get this album. If you aren't a Seal fan you should still try it, you might just get hooked.

Free Music Review: This man is one of the greatest artists of all time
Hit: 5 Stars

I admit, I have not always been a SEAL fan, meaning that I have not really took a big interest in his music (but had nothing against it). In fact, I had only heard one song by SEAL (Kiss from a rose). Many years later I was in a grocery store in NC and the song "waiting for you" began to play. I was captivated. I started hearing snippets of the song in random places around town. I was DETERMINED to find out who was the singer of the song, but since i had only heard parts of the song, people had no idea who I was talking about. One day, I listened very closely to the song and even though it had been YEARS since I had heard that ONE song by SEAL I was able to match his voice....the rest is history. I got the cd, and was flabbergasted! This has got to be one of the greatest artists of all time PERIOD!

Free Music Review: Immaculately produced...but the songs don't stick
Hit: 3 Stars

It can't be denied that Seal has a nice voice and he uses it emotively.

It can't be said that he doesn't have a wonderful producer. Trevor Horn extracts every bit of power he can out of each of these tracks.

What CAN be said is that he doesn't have a stack of great songs. There's just not a whole lot here to emotionally connect with. As the Amazon reviewer rightfully notes, this ends up being state of the art adult contemporary: catchy and inoffensive but seldom groundbreaking.

HIGHLIGHTS:
When all is said and done, only two songs really impressed me lyrically: The Hollywood critique in "Tinsel Town" and on-again, off-again love via "Don't Make Me Wait". Of those two, only "Don't Make Me Wait" made me really want to hear it again.

LOW POINTS:
No outright clunkers here....They all have a modicum of hummability because of the high sheen gloss Horn places on all the tracks.

BOTTOM LINE:
It's not outright BAD...but it's just not memorable to me in the end. I'm not a big Seal fan but I've enjoyed some of his past singles and because this has turned up on critics' lists for 2004, I thought I'd borrow it from the library and see if I was missing out. Its charms are eluding me.

Free Music Review: Talent
Hit: 5 Stars

If you like Seal, there's little doubt you'll like this release. Of particular interest to audiophiles as it is superbly recorded.
