Free Music Notes for Seal IVFree Music Review: Too Perfect For Its Own Good, Seal's Trying Too Hard Hit: 3 StarsThis was a tough one for me, part of me REALLY wanted to embrace this latest Seal outing but yet I couldn't get there!
While it does have some really top-notch songs like the rousing "Get It Together" and the beautiful "Love's Divine", the rest for me just falls flat, sounding extremely uptight, over-fussed with and trying way too hard to be likeable.
It's a shame because at the core, Seal is an artist who specializes in vulnerability and risk-taking, those qualities are what endeared his first 2 albums to me, and a fair portion of the flawed but worthwhile "Human Beings". On "IV", that spark and raw sense of adventure is really conspicuous by its absence.
I tried, really-----
Free Music Review: What An Incredible Artist Seal Is! Hit: 5 StarsMaking us pine for so long for this new album has finally paid off! My hat is off to Seal for not releasing what he considered
a so-so album years ago waiting until he could give us his very best and that is what he has done exactly!!
Every song is beautifully crafted. One of my favorites is "Heavenly" It is so inspirational that it brings a constant
uplifting to me every time I sing along. He is one of the artists who played a major role in the development of my own singing voice! It all started in the summer of 1994 with the release of the album that contained "Kiss from a Rose". "Could", "Prayer for the Dying" and "Metaphors" were songs that I practiced over and over to create my own unique sound. That album will always rank at the top as one of my very favorites!
Yes, Seal is quite a performer. And I thank him for composing songs from the heart instead of songs that would net him a larger bankroll. God has blessed him over and over for his tremendous talent and he will continue to be one of my very favorite artists. He is already rich with blessings! Buy this album. If he does not get nominated for a Grammy this year, it will be a tragedy indeed!

Free Music Review: Easily 5 stars. Hit: 5 StarsSeal IV is yet another gem from one of pop music's most dependable icons. Literally every song is good, with some absolutely fantastic. Never has such a diverse collection of songs been of such uniformly high quality. Highly recommended unless you like musical drivel.
Free Music Review: You have to listen in your car first! Great CD! Hit: 5 StarsOk, I've always been a Seal from the beginning. That being said, I purchased this CD for the song "Touch" that was played on the radio. As I begin to listen to the rest of the album, I thought it was "OK" nothing to write home about, not traditional Seal. Then one day, I listened to it in my car and WHOA!!! IT CAME TO LIFE! Every song is nice from the music to the lyrics! Each day or each week I would have a different favorite song! When I heard "Love Divine" on the radio, I could not believe that I overlooked that on the CD! Then I head "Loneliest Star" about taking a chance and on love after not finding the right one. "Tinsel Town" about the many "surface" relationships, trappings, and lifestyles in LA and "Let Me Roll" which is a top down get in your car song that tells people to just let me be me! Take time, keep an open mind, this CD is DIVERSE! It has rock, ballads, uptempo and R&B. It is very solid for true music lovers who listen to everything! :) Especically with all the no thought music on the radio! NO need to skip songs here.
Free Music Review: Why don't you buy this instead of.. Hit: 5 Stars..any of that Brittany/Christina/Clay nonsense. I mean, really, why is'nt this guy more popular in the states? A good MUSICIAN and singer who does'nt need to lip-sync his way through a performance and has a GREAT voice, can't make it big in the US any more? Wow, that mass-produced pablum cannot hold a candle to a CD like this. Seal's stuff sounds like it should - music created by an adult with a brain and taste.
Buy this CD, its good.
