Free Music Notes for Seals & Crofts - Greatest HitsFree Music Review: it's sealed and crofted Hit: 4 Starswhat can i say, in my republic of josie, my national anthem is bohemian rhapsody by queen and my alternate is hummingbird. i thank the gods of technology for the repeat button since i could listen to the song over and over and not get an overdose. no live performers could ever play this song when requested in my experience. the rest of the songs are just as good. brings me back to the '70s, way back when there was rhyme and reason in songs.
Free Music Review: Seals and Crofts...Evil Influences? I Think Not... Hit: 5 StarsI was exposed to this particular album in 1980. My soon to be brother-in-law had just become a "Born Again" Christian and was trying to purge himself of all "evil" influences. The dummy threw this album away along with many other great records out by the curb. I have heard Seals and Crofts referred to as many things, but I've never heard them referred to as "evil".
I put this on my stereo and immediately fell in love with the smooth sound and the gentle harmonies of these two. Yeah, sure, they kind of promote a different spiritual viewpoint, but it surely doesn't make them "evil". I guess people want to make sure that they're on the "right team"....like there is such a thing...I believe that everyone no matter what you may believe or accept is on a Spiritual Path. Even the "atheist". Iput quotations around atheist because is there such a thing? People who claim to "not believe" are still believing. You cannot not believe. You may not believe in labels or doctorines or creeds, but everone believes even if it's the validity of their own life...
But back to this album...it's really hard telling you what my favorite cuts are on this record because each song is part of a greater whole...again, a spiritual concept...each song stands out on its own, but never really overshadows anything else. I love the songs "East of the Ginger Trees" and "Hummingbird" but once again, they're not favorites because everything on this album is my favorite.
This may seem like a wishy-washy review, but I have learned over the years that everything has a benefit to it...that there is some shred of good in everything. Not too long ago my sister put threw my "bum" of a brother-in-law out by the curb. Maybe somebody found him and thought he was worthwhile just like I thought this album was worthwhile.
The music on this album is great for a day of doing nothing. It is so relaxing, so beautiful, it just melts deep into your soul and everything is okay. It's like a bong hit without the bong...not that I would know about such things... =)
So be free. Be easy. May your heart be at peace and may you follow the dictates of your own soul. Do not let anyone try to tell you that God loves some but not others, everything and every one of us has a Divine Purpose and this music is in total alignment with the Higher Purposes of Love and Goodwill.
Peace and Blessings
Free Music Review: A great album Hit: 5 StarsAt the very beginning of the 1970s, Jim Seals and Dash Crofts left the rather unsuccessful band that they had belonged to, and set out on their own. The rest, as they say, is history. Seals & Crofts produced some of the most recognizable soft rock songs of the 1970s - I mean, who hasn't heard Diamond Girl, Hummingbird, and Summer Breeze.
Well, this great CD contains ten of Seals & Crofts greatest tunes. It has the three I listed above, plus such great songs as East Of Ginger Trees and I'll Play For You. Now, if I was to complain about this album, it would be that it is a little short. I mean, twelve or so songs would have made the listening time a bit better.
But, that said, this is a great album. If you are a fan of that smooth, spiritual Seals & Crofts sound, then you must get this CD. I highly recommend it!
Free Music Review: Mostly filler material Hit: 2 StarsBeware that this album contains very few actual charted hits & mostly what I suppose are album cuts. I am so tired of seeing this kind of practice from the record companies. Greatest hits should mean just that-greatest hits! The record companies scream when they think they are being duped or cheated by the public but seem to think it is fine for them to do the same thing, I will never understand this.
Free Music Review: Great Album! Hit: 5 StarsGreat music from the early days of Soft Rock radio. Enjoy listening to Summer Breeze and Diamond Girl
