Free Music Review: Helps people commit suicide!
Hit: 1 Stars

This guy is really messed up and crazy! He shouldn't be producing a song about suicide when there are enough people who commit suicide every year. I've been there and don't need to be reminded of how painful those days were when I was only 19. I'm sick of this song, they need to take it off the air and I'm NEVER buying the album either. Screw this foolish singer!!

Free Music Review: Hopefully this will pass very quickly
Hit: 1 Stars

Maybe I'm not being fair, since I haven't heard the whole thing, but when you make a song that is as frighteningly bad as "Beautiful Girls", it makes it very difficult to find even a remotely compelling reason to waste my time bothering with the album.

The most accurate possible deduction that I can come up with for this is as follows: As far as being able to sing, this guy is the male version of Ashanti. His lyricism on "Beautiful Girls" is so pathetic that it makes Weird Al Yankovic seem almost serious, and of course there's the issue of the sample, which is never a good idea in the first place but especially bad here, because there was never a damn thing wrong with "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King (who should be having a huge fit every time he hears this). Avoid, don't support, because we don't need guys like this to help shape the future of R&B (if there even still is such a thing at this point in time).

Free Music Review: Yea mon, we rasta!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This guy is greatest Reggae act I've ever heard. He's like a black UB40 without having other people in the band. When I listen to this, it takes me back to a time when I lived in Jamaica as a toddler and played in a reggae band called Flying Kites on a Bender. We covered Shaka Demis songs like Murder she wrote. There is no way that this kid really has the last name Kingston, because he sounds like Bob Marley. I always heard if you sound like Bob Marley, you can change your last name to Marley. This guy is above that evidentally. This is ground breaking reggae for true reggae fans. This is old school stuff with a protest edge. He says a lot on this CD. Here is what he says,

1. I want to sell albums
2. I have no problem with kids working as long as they get their homework done.
3. My dog is cool
4. If someone calls me out, I'll think about my reaction for a bit.
5. Chicks dig me.

If you want some old school reggae, this is your guy. He is average which means he and I won't be in the same places.

Free Music Review: Nice
Hit: 4 Stars

It was a nice release for his first album. The canned beats of other artist is fine as long as it sounds good. I find it nice to hear p.collins again in a remix/mash (yea, plenty out there who sampled so you can cry about those too right?). He does put is own twist to it. This album has a bit of everything, maybe thats its downfall as well as its success. All in all i enjoy this album. Its a shame some other feel like its "garbage"; its not. It has its place. [billboard lol i laugh at those when their mention to back up how "good" an album is]

Free Music Review: Perfect example of a one hit wonder
Hit: 1 Stars

I seriously doubt Kingston will ever release a second album. I'm sure that if he does, it will be with no fanfare. What I really can't believe is that this cd debuted on billboard at #6. There's so much REAL talent out there not being recognized just because "the man" decides this kind of crap is gonna be what is played on radio and tv. This junk gets exposure and teenies and trendys eat it up with a fork and spoon. Meanwhile, real talent like Devildriver debutes at #46 (which is still good considering they are on an independent label), but again, that is only because they are not played out on the radio and tv every 8 songs like this trendy 13 year old teenie garbage is. Devildriver "Last Kind Words" is the best cd that came out last week. Use your Sean Kingston cd for a frisbee and go buy some real music from people that actually play their own instruments.
