Free Music Review: Great CD from a talented emcee

I've been waiting for Sean P's solo debut for awhile now and I have to say that it was a success. I was *slightly* disappointed with the beat choices in the middle of the CD and his apparent laziness in concepts but overall the good outweighs the bad. The single "Onion Head" is by far the best song on the album and symbolizes the CD in a cliffnotes version. Producer Khyrsis (a 9th Wonder protege) laces Ruck with a tight sample laden beat and he beats it down with rough bars that get your head nodding. 9th Wonder himself comes in and drops a jewel for Sean P. on "Heartburn" where dude talks about everything he loves in his life, tight concept song. Like I said, the middle of the CD was just okay with average songs like "Shake Down" with a studdering misstep beat. "Brokest Rapper You Know" has some good verses but its hard to focus with the lackluster beat there too. But it picks up again with the blaze "Boom Bye Yeah" and rolls through the rest of the album with solid Ruckus lines and nice beats. This CD is definately a must have for hip-hop fans..
