Free Music Review: Different...but still the same...kinda

I'm coming at this review knowing that there are many secondhand serenade fans in this world who are going to dislike this cd, and who are going to wonder why John Vesely decided to go the pop/rock rout. I myself was worried before I got this cd because I personally did not want to see Secondhand Serenade become just another group that blends in with every other pop/rock band in the world. Thankfully he didnt necesarially do that.
Really I wish he would have stuck with the same old same old acoustic that had characterized John Vesely on Awake. It was something unique, something I could love for the insightful lyrics, as well as the sheer musical value. Instead Twist in My Story really lost the depth and musical harmony that I loved in Awake. But...
Four Stars, because its still an Amazing CD, his new sound still appeals to me, and Its John Vesely through and through. I would have given him five because I really dont mind what he is doing, I just wish he would have had more of a balance with the acoustic songs he is known for.
