I had their first CD, and while it was good, the songs werent anything spectacular. So it was hit or miss for me. Soetimes id play a track or 2, so when K&E came out i never bothered with it.
I was browsing in the store and saw this. The ambiance on the cover kind of sucked me in. I tend to like this acoustic style stuff. Looked at the tracklisting and figured these songs could sound good in this setting. So i picked it up.
And as i figured, they pretty much play it safe and go note-for-note with the studio stuff. Not a bad thing, but nothing risky is attempted here except possibly the Pearl Jam cover of "Immortality" which is really well done. The sound quality is crisp, and the delivery is sincere..
So i will say that this CD got me re-interested in these guys a bit. I always liked Morgans laid back singing style. Lyrically, some are quite good. Some a bit hollow, but arent terrible by any means. Just a bit basic. If you liked Seether before, youll LOVE them after this. If you were a bit reluctant, this is a great place to start.
Not to mention you get the show on DVD as well.

If you are a true Seether fan or just like a couple of their songs or if you are just a fan of acoustic music you will not be disappointed with this CD my only complaint with this CD is I wish it was a full length live album when I buy live music I enjoy hearing everything like the segments where the band just talks on stage and to the fan it just goes into each song one after another...also the dvd kinda bummed me out some of the special features are cool but the dvd concert is the same as the cd no extra songs so thats kinda a disappointment but owell still a great cd.Free Music Review: Very well done

You wouldn't even know that this was a live production. The recording quality is so good that some songs sound better than the studio version. There is almost NO interaction between the band and the audience. Usually live recordings offer insight into the inspirations for certain songs or lets on to what songs the band is particularly fond of and why. You will not find any such indications on this album. Great choice for the songs on this live acoustic cd which was performed on Philadelphia's Grape Street club on February 22. Very pleased they actually chose "Diseased" for this album. I never saw Seether live (concert cancellations) but they are one of the few artists out there who sound gratifying while performing live.
I'm not really a fan of Pat Callahan, (2003 - 2006) the former lead guitarist, but I think Shaun and Dale can be all right without him.
