Free Music Notes for Sense and Sensibility: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1995 Film)

Free Music Review: Beautiful music
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD arrived in a timely manner and as described. I just LOVE this music - for each song, I can see in my mind's eye the scene from the movie - it's a joy to listen to.

Free Music Review: Strings and more Strings
Hit: 4 Stars

I usually prefer soundtracks that have the hard-driven drums and brass, but this classical-sounding score is very beautiful and very pleasant to listen to. I even enjoy the 2 vocal tracks, which is a minor miracle. The string instruments on this soundtrack are both energetic and lush in different moments. I'm glad that I bought this one.

Hit: 3 Stars

This soundtrack is definitely great music, especially for fans of the movie, Sense and Sensibility, starring Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant.

However, one big problem: this is NOT the "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack." This is all of the music from the movie, but not presented as it was in the movie. It's the same musical themes, but performed by other than the performances enjoyed in the film itself.

For instance, one of the main songs in the film, sung by Kate Winslet (or, at least, appearing to be), is instead sung by some opera singer, in opera style; not at all what I was longing for.

All in all, I was disappointed, but not critically so.

I prefer the soundtrack to Pride and Prejudice, but Sense and Sensibility has some beautiful music also if you like the classical approach!

Free Music Review: Lovely
Hit: 5 Stars

This is my favourite movie and has been for years. Had to come up with my wedding music and this was the first music I thought of because the film embodies love in all its states so perfectly. Beautiful, lilting melodies that are so well done. Many complained that original film version of vocals were not used, I agree it would have been nice to have those but as the amazing Jane Eaglen is a local gal I have to love her and her version of the songs literally makes me cry every time.
