Free Music Notes for Sentimento: Andrea Bocelli with Lorin Maazel and the London Symphony Orchestra [Limited Edition w/ Bonus Track]Free Music Review: Average Bocelli at best Hit: 3 StarsI bought this Bocelli album because I truly wanted to hear him perform "Plaisir D'Amour," one of my all time favorites. While I do love Bocelli I wasn't completely impressed with the entire CD. This is not the best I've heard from Andrea and his voice is not great throughout the CD. I do enjoy it though. He's one of the few artists I can listen to these days without getting a headache.
Free Music Review: Chill the wine and dim the lights Hit: 5 StarsAh, romance! Sweet, stirring violins, Bocelli's beautiful voice soaring effortlessly as he holds note after note to perfection... Sentimento is a wonderfully realized collection of romantic arias that sweeps us along into that mystical place we all need to be at times, a place of beauty and timelessness, where romance and sentiment seem ever so right and where the cares and worries of the world are nudged ever so gently into the background. If you have a heart of stone, you might not like this one, but to the rest of us, this is a work of art.
Free Music Review: Sentimento, Sentimento what a fantastic voice Hit: 5 Starsany word can't describe how I was happy while I was listenning to my favorite Tenor whom I think has the best voice all over the world , if you want to add a piece of art to your musical library , this is the one you must add enjoy
Free Music Review: Hmmmm.... Hit: 3 StarsWell, I must say that for once I must digress sharply with my fellow reviewers. This latest effort of Andrea left me feeling less than inspired and of all US releases of his (I own them all), this is the only non-operatic project of his that I simply do not like (didn't care for his Verdi interpretations either). I've tried listening to it several times but I have difficulties even keeping it playing half way through....it's THAT uninspiring! What's exactly does that mean? Well, the arrangements for most of the songs (the Neapolitan standards in particular) simply don't work....there is little room for violin interludes, yet they've forced just that into each track. Andreas' voice, while a little darker and stronger than what he offered on his last release (Cieli di Toscana), seems to lack the underlying passion required to successfully interpet most of the offerings presented here. Song selection.....I understand the concept the producers were shooting for, but this project borders on the insipid if not out right boring. I've given this project 3 stars because it is not a total failure. There are some nice moments and were it not for the incessant "fiddling" by Maazel I might have even liked it enough to give it a 4 star rating. So while I can see why the majority of reviewers liked this project, I can only hope that Andreas' next release will bring him back to what he does best.....popopera!
