Free Music Notes for Roots

Free Music Review: OH FO SHO
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm not a huge sepultura fan, and well since max left, seps havent been dropping the goods for a while, and i'm not going to get into soulfly. enough rambling, roots.....one of the best rock albums of the 90's. yeah, i said it, my opinion, but the rest is for you to decide. so make sure you pick it up.

Free Music Review: You either get it, or you don't
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, I NEVER write reviews for music because you either like it, or you don't. However, This Album is/was so far ahead of it's time that bands are still trying to copy some/all of its elements. Lookaway (track 8) is pure genius; it's so good it hurts. So do your self a favor, BUY this album, Listen to it on a Hi-end Stereo or good headphones, and see what you have been missing... Nuff' Said

Free Music Review: A MEDIOCRE ALBUM.
Hit: 3 Stars

This album is nowhere near the level of the classic chaos ad.The songs sound okay but are simply not memorable. They are experimenting too much with having a tribal sound and this takes away from their thrash roots.Roots has more of a numetal sound to it and they are simply not a thrash band anymore.Max cavaleras voice sounds like he is simply screaming and is at its worst here. Some people may like this album, but I dont feel its worthy of my cd collection.Thats it for now.Peace.

Free Music Review: One of their best and sadly the last good one
Hit: 5 Stars

This album was the masterpiece that brought in a lot new people to the Sepultribe and sadly lost alot of their old-school fans of their thrash/death metal roots. All in all I'd say this could be their best next to 'Arise'. Sadly it was their final album with Max, what with tensions growing between the bandmates and the recent murder of his stepson, Dana Wells, as Max would go on a few years later to create Soulfly, (and everything with Sepultura will go downhill from here as they bring in Derrick Green) which in many ways can be looked at as a continuation of what Sepultura was doing with this album, all the tribal metal, etc.
If you love Soulfly, I guarantee you will totally dig this one. It's very experimental in a way but Sepultura stay true and don't f--- around. "Look Away" actually features Mike Patton and Jonathan Davis, even though I don't hear him on the song, (Korn's last good cd came out in the same year as well) I think if they were to have made a "final album" type thing, this would definitely be the one to go out on. Best songs would be Attitude (the one that first introduced me to Sep.), Straighthate, Cut-Throat, Lookaway, and Dictatorsh*t.
Peace out, and keep rockin.

Free Music Review: Very Good Album
Hit: 4 Stars

Sepultura did it again..Roots is an awesome CD with gut renching songs mixed with metal, tribal, and a style only few bands have accomplished. Max Cavalera's(Soulfly)vocals in the album are amazing the song 'Roots Bloody Roots" and "Rtamahatta"are very good songs, also on the song "LookAway" Jonathan Davis from Korn and DJ Leathal from Limp Bizkit appear on this track.
