I recall fondly these old Victor Rachmaninoff recordings (along with his Stowkowski-four concertos) and to have them restored in this stunning Zenph-Sony Masterwork CD is a real gift. The sound is crystal clear and dynamic and they show Rachmaninoff's amazing technical piano mastery and power. I highly recommend this CD to anyone interested in not only Rachmaninoff but great piano music in general and state-of-the-art sound recordings. This CD is a great follow-up to the wonderful Zenph-Sony Glenn Gould Goldberg Variation disc and I hope they continue to re-release great recordings in the future.Free Music Review: Incredible

This album is absolutely amazing. It gave me a new-found appreciation for Rachmaninoff's music. Etude Tableau, Op. 33, No. 2 in C Major is a wonderful display of his talent and power behind a piano, and Prelude, Op. 3, No. 2 in C-Sharp Minor is an amazing example of how he can tell such a detailed story with no words and 88 keys. I could not stop listening to it. Zenph is doing things I could never have imagined, and anxiously await their next album. A must buy for any classic music listener!

I own this CD and plan on giving it as a gift to everyone at Christmas. Zenph has gotten better with this selection as the power and tenderness of Rachmaninoff's playing is crystal clear. I love this disk. Highlights include the binaural verison for headphones which puts you at the bench where Rachmaninoff sat and you hear the performance as he heard it. It is astounding.
Buy this CD and fall in love with Rachmaninoff all over again.

After watching Joshua Bell on PBC-TV's "Great Performances"" perform the Grieg Duet using the Zenph technology with Rachmaninoff performing on the piano , I ordered the cd that night from Amazon.
