I bought this cd two year ago. I leant my first copy to someone and they fell in love with it and never returned it. I bought another copy and added it to the collection. I just pulled it out and even after 2 years, listening to it again is better and sweeter than when I first used to play it. Definitely a classic and one for the collection. If you dont have it, your missing a musical experience that lasts for hours after the cd has finished! Free Music Review: Timely and Timeless

?berproducer Sergio Mendes has enlisted a terrific stable of contemporary musicians to lend new flavor and shade to some oldies, and as he did with 1992's "Brasileiro" he also produces some nice new work that is sure to please listeners on either side of the Equator.
There is a lot of good material on this album, and I particularly enjoyed "Timeless" with India.Arie, "The Frog" with Q-Tip, "Bananeira" with Mr. Vegas, and their interpretation of "Samba Da Bencao," in which Mendes and will.i.am collaborate on a terrific arrangement, particularly Marcelo D2's sambalicious flow.
I've also got to shout out Edward Martinez's wonderful "Kindness is Timeless" album art. You rock, Homes.
Kudos to Concord Music as well. Keep it up. Continue to have faith that we're out there.

Grammy winner Sergio Mendes has been entertaining US audiences with his Brazilian pop-jazz group (Brasil '66, '77, '88) for the better part of 5 decades. "Timeless" is his latest out-of-the-box effort in which he deftly stokes common African roots to fuse samba rhythms with hip hop and R&B, creating a musical evolution that is deeply enjoyable. If you're into smooth jazz, R&B, or world music you are apt to find yourself humming, toe-tapping or hip-swinging to the tune of most, if not all, of the cuts in "Timeless" as you drive or work. Prepare to let out your inner Afro-Brazilian!
