Free Music Notes for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: The Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Blissful and Nostalgic Hit: 5 Stars
This is an all time favorite of mine. I have always liked these versions of the songs BETTER than the Beatle's version because on this album, the songs have depth that I have never found in the Beatle's music. People often say the movie was bad. I never thought so. I feel that it was often misunderstood. It was SUPPOSED to be light and silly and campy folks! It portrayed innocence, innocence nearly lost, innocence refound tempered with wisdom. It was a movie of imagery, of fun, of light hearted feelings, of feel good times of days gone by, of finding independence, of pursuing a dream, of not taking oneself too seriously, of beauty, of love and again, of innocence.
Free Music Review: Brings me back to my childhood Hit: 5 Stars
I was about 9 years old when this came out in the late 70's and my sister's and I just loved it! At the time, Peter Frampton was a HUGE hit and teen heart-throb (we had a wall-size poster of him on the bedroom wall!)and the Bee Gees were also awesome. Barry Gibb was hot - although at the time we would have said he was "a hunk"! I just happened to be thinking about it for some reason a few days ago, and then came across the movie On Demand. Although the movie is quite silly (purposefully so), the music is so great. I absolutely love this soundtrack. I can't believe it was nearly 30 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Free Music Review: Just Another Review Hit: 5 Stars
I liked this album and the movie. It may not be the best movie ever made, nor was this the best album ever made; however being a fan of the artists who worked on the project I'm a fan. 100%. Yes the movie was cheesy I'll give it that, but who cares.
Personally, I got a kick out of Frampton's face when I asked him to sign my copy of the movie!!! (And YES he's still touring and still KICKS MAJOR @$$ on the guitar!!! The hall of fame honor was long over due!)
But hey, what do I know.... : ) Sure there are people bound to disagree, lets just agree to disagree!
Free Music Review: 14 Years Old AGAIN Hit: 5 Stars
I no longer have this album however the moment I put the CD in the player I started singing and this movie came flooding back to me. I felt like a teenager again. I realize most people hated this movie and the songs but I enjoyed it and it made me happy. I don't know what the Beatles were on when they wrote these songs but I am so glad they did. Peter Framton, The Bee Gees, Steve Martin, Aerosmith, Earth Wind and Fire and of course the great George Burns - a movie like this will never be made again. This is a fun CD for a road trip and will have you smiling and singing for hours.
Free Music Review: WOW! Hit: 5 Stars
well, dad made a fuss over sgt pepper all my life. So I bought it! I've heard a few beatles songs before, but they sound nothing like this! Their voices really changed in the 70's, but much better. The funniest thing about the album is the fake names they use, i.e. Bee Gees, George Burns (John impersonation an old man's voice), Peter Frampton, and hey, Aerosmith got their name from it. Wow! this has a hint of disco too! It's amazing that they got their voices so high when they were under the name, The Bee-Gees. Best album of all time, and I sure love the trumpet on the cover!
