At first, I just got this cd for a couple songs to see if I liked it, the first couple times I listened to this cd, I didn't like it as much as I do now, but the more I listen to it, the more I really love the songs...I also have the rest of her cds, and they are good as well...but I really like this cd...I really like the tracks Don't Bother, Your Embrace, Something, Timor, and all the other songs are just as great...they might be in English, but that doesn't mean Shakira can't still be good! I say, if you like Shakira, give it a couple listens, you might like it over time...it was just different getting used to, which is fine with me because I like things changing...you don't want an artists songs sounding the same do you?Free Music Review: Disappointing

I love some of Shakira's songs...especially her Portuguese/Spanish versions. I bought this album after hearing her fantastic song, "Hips Don't Lie"...expecting more of the same ilk. Unfortunately, the other tracks are nothing like "Hips".Free Music Review: THAT VOICE

The only thing I thought I knew about Shakira was that she was some Latin pop diva on the order of non-Latin pop diva Mariah Carey, whose faux-sexy image sells records while her voice has never met a song she didn't oversing into ruination. So I'm in this Gap store in the mall and "Don't Bother" is rocking through the ceiling speakers. Stop everything. That voice, those guitars, those lyrics. I went over to the salesgirl and asked who it was singing, and my wife says, "Isn't that Shakira," and I say, "No, really?" The salesgirl confirms it and I end up ordering a couple of CD's through Amazon. Forget the marketing. Sure, sex sells but, unlike Mariah Carey, Shakira has talent beneath the facade. She wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on this album and belts them out like a locomotive. The lyrics are sardonic and ironic, and the voice that wraps itself around them knows what it's doing. i know who you are shakira i been know her sence 99 in the 9th grade her older cd,s are better much she like jet li his english movies are awful but his chinesse movies are better much . unlike gloria estefan was able crossover and win hearts but shakira is very diffrent 1. she already famous in the latin world this cd is awful where are the thivies was better than this .i know thaila also try to crossover but it fail she success in crossover but english cd,s are bombs i hope she come out with a better one madonna new cd,s sucks too my deadsy cd is better than this bomb and i like shakira a lot i hope she does next time. beyonce solo cd sucks buy ciara the media won,t praise her as hard as they do beyonce and her is cd better.
