Free Music Notes for Oral Fixation Vol. 2

Free Music Review: Not perfect but sexy
Hit: 4 Stars

Latin rock goddess Shakira returns to musical prominence with Oral Fixation Vol. 2, her first English-language album since her intriguing and stunning English-language debut five years ago. Though it's not a perfect listen, it does have its moments, and those moments are superb examples of the booty-shaking Colombian singer-songwriter's ability to create dancefloor-urgent rock music. Global hit "Hips Don't Lie" is the standout track here, of course, and the dialogue between Shakira and Wyclef is brilliant with Shakira's bleating sounding better than ever; it is definitely the best song on record. Ex-smash "La Tortuga" is given a new kick in the pants on Oral Fixation Vol. 2 and is included as a bonus track, and it does its job pretty well--it's not the original mix but it sounds great regardless of the new format. The opener "How Do You Do" is an eerie and haunting questioning-of-one's-faith song that is a pleaser. "Animal City" channels disco-rock with its soaring chorus. The record does have its pitfalls, as heard in the bland and boring "Hey You," probably the worst song on the album. In the end Oral Fixation Vol. 2 isn't perfect, but it's still an engaging and entertaining listen by one of music's most unique vocalists.

Free Music Review: Dum Dum Dum
Hit: 1 Stars

I thought Hips Don't Lie was absolutely lousy. Shakira is not sexy shaking her hips. Shakira, is not sexy. Apparently, Hips Don't Lie (HDL, don't make me type that atrocious title again!) is this album's best song.

I smell month-old sweaty socks.

Free Music Review: Not flawless, but still intriguing
Hit: 4 Stars

Latin-based international pop diva Shakira sets speakers on fire with her latest (though oddly-named) offering Oral Fixation Vol. 2. Her smash "Hips Don't Lie" is, of course, the standout track here, but surprisingly most of the remainder is consistent and well-written, well-performed and well-produced. Of course, it's not perfect, but it's definitely worth listening to for its Latin-influenced English music performed in the unique vocals of one of the industry's most talented singer-songwriters.

Free Music Review: sorry i don't like it.
Hit: 2 Stars

i like the song i just don't think very much of her voice.
her voice tends to shake, and the pitches are off. sorry i, i rather buy music that sounds like, they are profesionals and not like anyone can make a record.
