True, the music CD sells itself. But please don't judge or criticize a movie you haven't seen. I was not a fan of Gere or Lopez, but I have been so pleasantly surprised by dance movies that have a gentle storyline (like Strictly Ballroom) that I went and loved it. I came away very impressed by Lopez - she can act and she can dance - wow - and Gere was good too. He's not a champion dancer but he is right for the person designed for the story, believable and sincere. Hey, no sex, no violence, but lots of good honest passion, friendship and some real love too. The entire cast was well chosen, and the story came together with a natural feel. Updated November 2011. A couple of years ago while strolling through Heathrow I heard Lunático by Gotan Project (Audio CD - 2006). Gotan did one of the tracks in Shall We Dance. I highly recommend you pick up Lunático! If you are a competition dancer you know how important it is with the tempo but after all the energy of the music so can easily get into the mood for the Dance. Superior collected quality tracks. Starting with Cha cha cha Paso Doble, English Wals's, and a amazing Jazzie Samba . Though the albom consists with some very good New Tangos,, salsa and the last song which is very good intrepetation of the David Bowies Lets Dance on which you cannot be seated. Hip hop, slow Jive, boogie woogie , Bug, samba or reggaeton whatever you prefer. Just go for it th way you like it.
If your body doesn't move on this final track...you are certainly not a dancer.
So many different styles of dances on just one album. Great!

I watch this movie over and over. The story is wonderful, the acting is great--who can resist Richard Gere's tiny smile towards his wife, Susan Sarandon. And this was my first intro to Jennifer Lopez who was excellent and a wonderful dancer. The music?? Well, I had to have the music; it is varied and it is romantic and uplifting and introduced me to Peter Gabriel and other music. You won't be sorry to buy this music--it makes you want to get up and dance slow and fast!! And if you are a little bit of an oldster, like me, it will bring back youthful and memorable feelings of romance and real love!Free Music Review: Song In J. Lo's Dance Sequence????

I didn't think highly of the preview of this movie when it first came out but I caught the movie on HBO one day and I LOVED it!
I am not a fan of J. Lo's vocal skills, but I am always pleasantly surprised with her acting and dancing abilities.
The soundtrack is simply amazing and you won't regret your purchase!
I wanted to find out the name of the song in the J Lo. dance sequence where she was dancing by herself, during the voice over of the letter her character wrote to Richard Gere's character. If you know the name of the song, please post it.

The Pussycat Dolls are amazing in their rendition of "SWAY!!!" Though it sounds oddly familiar to Michael Buble's version, but hey with looks and moves like their's "WHO CARES!?!" The Pussycat Dolls are the only reason why I purchased this album. I saw their music video for "SWAY" on the internet by chance and to tell you all the truth, I can't get enough!!! To anyone who doubts my claims that they are indeed great, then go watch their video on Launch dot com. But come one, come all in becoming balls of yarn for these kitties to play with;>
