Free Music Notes for Shania Twain - Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Simply GREAT! Hit: 5 Stars
Shania Twain is the most successful female artist of all time for a reason....80 million worldwide sales with only 4 albums under her belt proves that she is no one hit wonder!
This album is amazing! it includes most of her biggest hits over the last 10 years, and lets face it, she has had a LOT! It also includes 3 brand new songs which are just more future hits for our lovely Shania!
Shania's 3 new songs include 2 versions of her fun yet classy "Party For 2", one which will appeal to her country fanbase and one which will appeal to her international fans, it includes her very country swing song "I Ain't No Quitter" which is extremely catchey and puts half the writers in Nashville to shame, and finally Shania's new ballad entitled "Don't!" which I can only describe as simply BEAUTIFUL! Trust me when I say this, it is worth buying this album for "Don't!" ALONE, I just hope that when Shania releases this as a single that it gets the recognition it deserves because it is just an amazing piece of work, right up there with "You're Still The One"!
Overall, this album is just solid, packed with mega hits and great songs! This is without doubt one of the best Greatest Hits albums ever compiled and anyone who gives it less then 4 stars obviously has no clue on what great songs are and has seriously bad taste in music!
Buy this album now, it will be the best $10 you ever spend!
Free Music Review: You'll have to force yourself not to like it Hit: 5 Stars
OK, let's put the cards on the table.
Q: Is this really country music? A: Probably not.
Q: Is it highly slick with any remotely rough patches smoothed over? A: Yes.
Q: Is it overtly calculated for mass commercial appeal? A: Without question.
Q: Is Shania so good looking that she'd probably have a hit making sucking and slurping noises? A: Yup.
Q: Regardless, is this CD consistently entertaining from beginning to end? A: You betcha.
This is not a genre of music that I'm usually that keen on, but over the years I've been consistently impressed with the catchiness of Shania's singles. I never bought the original albums because I feared the singles might be the only good stuff. So this greatest hits package was perfect for me and did not diappoint.
This CD is very generously filled and really has all the Shania Twain material casual listeners would be familiar with - unusual for a first greatest hits package. In fact after a few listens you can program your 10-12 favorite songs for an even tighter killer collection. This is just fun music to (for example) bounce around to while preparing dinner. I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed this.
Don't get overly analytical. This is what it is, you almost certainly have heard these songs before. If you liked what you heard on the radio, you'll like this.
Free Music Review: Heaps of FUN! Hit: 5 Stars
The prime element in Shania's music is fun. Not depth or gloss, or vocal gymnastics, and this is the main reason why Shania has become so successful in the first place. This greatest hits collection packed with 21 meaty cuts proves just that, and believe me, this package is THE essential Shania Twain.
Each song is set to keep the party going, with Shania's flamboyant and sunny lyrics, at times tongue-in-cheek but nevertheless true for all of us. Songs like UP!, DON'T BE STUPID, HONEY I'M HOME and ANY MAN OF MINE are Shania at her best. Shania delivers the beats and riffs in this power album. Of course there are ballads to settle the dust, and when Shania makes one, she makes sure it is THE ballad. Songs like FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS and wedding staple FROM THIS MOMENT ON sees Shania singing vows of love to make you warm and fuzzy, and ballads like DON'T and the WOMAN IN ME displays Shania's vulnerability and heartfelt emotion in her singing.
As for the new songs, they're just icing on the cake. PARTY FOR TWO, both versions with Mark McGrath and Billy Currington are definite hits, DON'T to slow things down, and I AIN'T NO QUITTER sees Shania singing downright country, (and she's gooood!).
Get this timeless collection, that you'll find yourself singing along with in no time. It is SHANIA at her best.
Free Music Review: This CD made me her greatest new fan! I want MORE! Hit: 5 Stars
I have always heard good things about Shania Twain but I confess I never actually got around to buying one of her CDs. Man, did I cheat myself! Her singing here is electric, full of positive energy and emotion. She emotes so well and her intensity blew me away! Wow!
The album starts off with "Forever And For Always," "I'm Gonna Getcha Good," and UP!"--a triumphant start! Shania packs a powerful punch here! I was hooked by the end of just these three songs! GRIN The CD song set includes two really nice versions of "Party For Two," one with Mark McGrath and the other with Billy Currington. Terrific! I also love the beat on "Don't Be Stupid." Great song!
I also believe my favorite song would HAVE to be "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" Its positive energetic upbeat rocks hard and really well. The musical arrangement on "That Don't Impress Me Much" is totally awesome and of course the words make an important statement about focusing on the person in a love affair rather than material goods.
I can see why every song here either has been a hit or will be a hit really soon! I am definitely adding more Shania Twain CDs to my collection! Her strong, powerful and heartfelt singing makes her so uniquely genuine! This is a gift she shares with us all! Just this one CD and I was HOOKED! GRIN
Free Music Review: This CD has all of Shania's best Hit: 5 Stars
Shania Twain is one of the best female singers around. This CD has most of her hits. My favorite song is Man! I feel like a Woman. This song really rocks and gets me going. Another highlight track for me is the song That Don't Impress Me Much. I love the lyrics to this song very much, because I think what really matters is a person's personality and character and not what they have in terms of material possessions. I also like the song I'm Going Getcha You Good too from the smash album UP.
Shania Twain sings the best love songs. I especially enjoy the songs You're Still The One, and At This Moment. These are very beautiful songs that were big hits on both the country and pop charts. Shania's voice is heartfelt and sincere on her love songs. I think that is part of her huge appeal.
Shania sings a new duet entitled Party for Two with newcomer Billy Currington on this album. This is a very playful and flirty song that I loved. She also sings this song with Sugar Ray front man Mark McGrath. I enjoyed both versions of this song.
The song Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under is a real crowd pleaser at her concerts. It is a very lively song that gets the audience on their feet. This CD is an excellent greatest hits album. I recommend this CD to anyone who loves good music.
