Free Music Notes for Shania Twain - Greatest Hits

Free Music Review: Shania's Greatest Hits
Hit: 5 Stars

I've listened to a lot of greatest hits albums, and I must say this is one of my favorite in all of country music. The album includes 20 of Shania's best songs. One song, Party For Two, has two versions, a version with Mark McGrath and a version with Billy Currington. What I like most about this album is that you get so much in one collection. You get just about all the original chart-toppers, a few popular favorites, and three new (for the time of this album) songs.

The many songs are varied in style, and mostly the kind of upbeat, uptempo stuff you can really move to. Some of the best upbeat songs are "You Win My Love", "That Don't Impress Me Much", "Who's Bed Have Your Boots Been Under" and "Up". The ballads are well done especially "Forever and Always" and "From This Moment". Plus both versions of "Party for Two" will really make you wanna dance and sing along.

Over all, it's a great value and an album that I would recommend to country music listeners, especially if you don't already have a few of Shania's albums.

Free Music Review: she is the reason why i like country.....
Hit: 5 Stars

SHIANA TWAIN is a hottie and she changed this 6'4" black man to turn to country for awhile... it is just not country she was a crossover sensation....

'ur still the one' changed my perspective on all country songs... it did not sound like a country song... that is why i think it did so well to audiences....

'man! i feel like a woman' is just a guilty pleasure for most dudes just like the guy in the car commercial like a year ago.... it is a interesting so...

'i'm outta here' is one of my favourite songs by her... it was edgy and it actually sounds like she is taking control of the relationship... that is different for all kinds of music you never heard a female take control...

'from this moment on', 'up', 'im gonna get you', 'come on over', 'that don't impress me'(international remix), and 'what made you say that' are just classics... .

she is on of the powerful singers in music today and we should not forget shiana for that.....

And then there's the Whitney Houston Meets Pat Benatar Power Ballad "Sacrificial Lamb" and the Pat Benatar-esque "Just Like That" (which Billboard Magazine in it's (glowing) review called the CD's Secret Weapon). Free Music Review: A Pretty Face with Undeniable Charm
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been a fan of Twain's since the "Woman in Me" album hit stores some years ago and since then she has exploded into something of a phenomenon. And so it seems the perfect time to release a GH album to capitalize on the mania, but to me it seems a little soon (with only 3 popular albums under her belt). However, this is the perfect album for those who never took the time to buy one of her pervious albums - the perfect opportunity to play catch up (so to speak). Most of the good songs are included, of course excluding those she did not release (It Takes Two) and for some reason the loveable "When You Kiss Me" is excluded. Also, I would have loved to see her Grammy nominated version of Dolly's "Coat of Many Colors," but otherwise they're all here.

The one thing that does not impress me here, however, are the new songs, particularly "Party for 2," which almost makes my ears bleed every time I hear it. BUT, still a worthy buy any day of the week.
