Free Music Notes for Woman in MeFree Music Review: Still her best Hit: 5 Stars
"The Woman In Me" is still the watershed country (yes, country) album of the 1990s and still Shania's best album to date. The hit songs are pure, unadulterated fun. Nothing more, nothing less. There a pair of weak tracks but they are completely overshadowed by the horde of chart-toppers."Any Man of Mine" is a perfect example of how to write crowd-pleasing, danceable, and catchy country songs without making them novelty tunes (e.g., "Achy Breaky Heart") or crossover fluff. Its harmonics, hooks, and staccato drums STILL make people move after nearly a decade but it maintains an authentic, even flagrant, country style. The ballads are touching, the light-hearted tunes (especially "No One Needs to Know") actually lighten the heart, and the [fast] songs really kick. And "God Bless the Child" is a haunting autobiographical coda. The reason TWIM remains Shania's best is that it picks one style per song and sticks with it. Much of her later efforts try to graft incongruent genres into single songs ("Honey I'm Home" has pop verses and country choruses, for example) to schizophrenic effect. It makes it easier to re-mix for each market but hurts the music. If you must own a Shania CD, make it this one.
Free Music Review: Mmmm. I like it like this. Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD after Come On Over and was prepared for what I had heard about this album. Surprisingly, I liked the country sound. It seemed to add to the power of the upbeat songs and add to the dramaticness of the ballads. All the songs on this CD are very well thought out and establish a point for us to ponder. I liked every song one way or the other. I thought that the best song lyric wise was "Any Man of Mine". The lyrics here define a woman's expectations in a relationship and are very fun to listen to. The best song in musically is "I'm Outta Here". The drum beats and various instrument injections keep you on your feet. No lyrics required. The best overall song in my opinion is "Raining On Our Love". This song starts off slowly, building steadily to the climax where the lyrics are phrased beautifully. It also gets a great point across that love takes serious commitment. All in all, I think that this CD is worth the money. buy it and find out why millions of other people bought it.
Free Music Review: Half country, half pop... alot better! Hit: 5 Stars
"The Woman In Me" is a much better works of Shania Twain, better than the previous release, "Shania Twain." This album is not just all country, which makes it a much better album. With Lange as a songwriter on every song and with Shania too, writing every song, (half and half) the pair comes up with great tunes of country-pop, such as "Who's BeD Have Your Boots Been Under?". Twain and Lange have their own ways of writing songs and when you put them together as a team, they can write the most, best, greatest country-pop and country-ballad music ever. Shania made a good choice changing producers because before with her not writing songs, she didn't have much of a personal life like Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac. Some of my other favorites are "Home Ain't Where His Heart Is (Anymore)," which is a love ballad. And the 1:30 seconds of time "God Bless The Child" was a personal song, (about when she was growing up, that's my guess) but Lage convinced Shania to put it on the album.
Free Music Review: This Is Shania Hit: 5 Stars
Come On Over was a good album, but its pale in comparison to this fantastic album, The Woman In Me. This created a tidal wave of change in country. Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under and Any Man Of Mine changed country, because it was a female who was dressing a little more skimpier and was a little more sassy that what country was used to. Those were the two first hits, but then came another gem, my personal favorite, The Woman In Me (Needs the Man In You). Beautiful song. If Youre Not In It For Love is fun. You Win My Love is the best upbeat in my opinion. I could go on and on. Another good one is Home Aint Where His Heart Is Anymore. Other memorable songs are God Bless The Child (video is much better), Leavin is The Only Way Out, If It Dont Take Two and more. You need this album if you like country, it was revolutionary.
Free Music Review: I love it,she great!! Hit: 5 Stars
This has always been my favorite CD mainly because it has the first song I heard by her on it. Which is also my favorite song by her "Any Man Of Mine". I used to listen to that song all day long until it was time for me to go to bed. Even then I played it on my CD player. I was told one time that I sung the song in my sleep. One time I was sleeping in the car when her song "Nobody Needs To Know" came on and I woke right up and started singing to it. After that I went back to sleep. I see alot more country artist following her. You're seeing a lot more mid-drif and hearing a little more upbeat sound to the songs. I guess they're finally realizing that country music doesn't have to be like it was in the 50's. It doen't have to be to the extreme to where it isn't country any more.
