Good sound quality and in great condition. I got it very promptly-no long wait in the mail.

Free Music Review: good--even though I wish this had an extra song or two
Hit: 4 Stars

Shaun Cassidy - Greatest Hits on the Curb Records label gives us twelve very solid numbers by a pretty awesome musician and performer, Shaun Cassidy. Unfortunately, it's not really everything he did that I would call his "greatest;" but it does go a good way toward giving you good music and hopefully some fond memories of the times when you first heard these tunes on the radio.

"Da Doo Ron Ron" starts off the CD with a soft rock/bubblegum flavored ballad that features Shaun's vocals squarely in the spotlight--he sings this great! Shaun's voice is full of energy and warmth as he sings about a pretty woman he just met. I always liked "Da Doo Ron Ron" and I predict you'll enjoy this number, too.

"That's Rock 'N' Roll" has a great rockin' beat that really has a strong `70s flavor to it that brings back so many good memories for me of junior high school dances; Shaun sings this very well and his excellent diction helps his performance a lot. The guitar work on "That's Rock 'N' Roll" also makes the music sound really good. "Teen Dream" also has that soft `70s rockin' flavor to it; and this works very well as Shaun shows off the awesome qualities of his voice. Great!

"Do You Believe In Magic" is a great cover of this ballad that gets a really fast tempo--it really makes you want to jump up and dance practically wherever you are! The guitars work wonders for "Do You Believe In Magic" and Shaun bats this one straight out of the ballpark! There's also "Hard Love;" this rockin' tune sounds great when Shaun sings it so well. There's some mighty fine percussion on "Hard Love," too.

Listen also for "Break For The Street;" this song about life gets the royal treatment from Shaun who delivers this beyond perfection--and with great sensitivity, too. "So Sad About Us" has great guitar work and the harmonizing sounds terrific! This is really a harder type of rockin' rune that Shaun pulls off well.

The CD ends with Shaun doing "Once Bitten Twice Shy;" I remember this from my younger years and it still sounds so good all these years later! Shaun sings and wails this out like the pro that he always was and it makes a great ending for this album.

Unfortunately, I truly doubt that twelve tracks encompass all the "greatest" hits or tunes by Shaun Cassidy; but we do get excellent numbers here all the way through. Four stars for a CD that's actually quite good even though it's just not the best "greatest hits" compilation. Diehard fans will do well to fine other meatier CDs by Shaun Cassidy.

Free Music Review: Where have all the Shaun-ers gone?
Hit: 4 Stars

Was cleaning out my basement and came across my Shaun Cassidy albums. I figured hey, why not play them and recall my youth. Oh, man, did I have a great weekend! Everytime the next song came on I'd immediately remember every word to the song! Curiosity got the best of me and I looked to see if any of his music had been placed on CD. Well, here you go. A somewhat quick release of some of his hits even though called Greatest Hits. Don't get me wrong, the songs are as we remember them. But a true Shaun fan will notice some obvious misses. Of course, a true Shaun fan would want each LP remastered onto a CD but, we'll see if that ever happens. Not sure what happened after the Room Service LP but the last few songs really surprised me that it was him and not greatly produced. Good to know he is a famous director now or I'd wonder 'what ever happened to...' Again, for a nice walk down memory lane this is a good CD. Real (obsessed) fans would want more and better packaging. The Under Wraps picture is always a pleasure to look at but, we know there is more out there to be seen. I even sent 3 of these CDs to my friends to remind them that "Sometimes you just need to sit back, put on the headphones and listen to your Shaun Cassidy music!" Does he still do autographs ????

Free Music Review: TEEN DREAM, TEEN DREAM, oooh, oh yeah!
Hit: 4 Stars

I grew up with 2 older sisters, and Shaun Cassidy is one of the first people I remember listening to, mainly, "Da Doo Ron Ron", "Teen Dream" and "Do You Believe In Magic". So his music has always had a very, very special place in my heart. It reminds me of being a kid and being carefree. I was born the year "Da Doo Ron Ron" came out, but I grew up on his albums anyway. Though this album is very short, it has all the main hits on it, it still is a great listen although some of the lesser known songs such as "Walk Away", "Carolina's Comin' Home" and "Taxi Dancer", to name a very few, would have been nice to have on cd, since NOTHING else of his has been released on cd, I wish they would remaster and reissue all of Shaun's albums because I have had to keep replacing my Shaun records, which in my opinion the best two are SHAUN CASSIDY and BORN LATE (though UNDER WRAPS is a very close 3rd), because they keep getting worn out! But until that happens, this collection (even though it's bare-bones essentials) is the next best thing.
