Free Music Notes for Volume OneFree Music Review: different but fantastic Hit: 4 StarsThe sound is very 60's with some great covers!! Its different than what's coming out these days, but different, in a good way. I love it.
Free Music Review: She knows somebody Hit: 1 StarsFraud. No voice to speak off, boring arrangements. Instead, take $12-15 out of your wallet and as you drive let it float out the window. You'll feel better and it will sound better.
Free Music Review: Cute and refreshing Hit: 4 StarsThis is a cute and refreshing work. Very folky and it brings back feelings of young high school love.
Free Music Review: She and Him Hit: 5 StarsShe and Him - Volume 1 is an excellent album. I first heard Zooey Deschanel sing in the movie Elf years ago and knew then that I would be hearing her again. She sings with feeling that is reminiscent of the past and her musical influences are made very clear. This album has a strong Beatles feel and I'm not talking about the Beatles cover of "I Should Have Known Better." They also delve into strong country roots as well as America's classic 50's sound for a spectacular blend that you will love.
Free Music Review: An impressive collaboration Hit: 5 StarsIf you haven't caught wind of She & Him by now, it's time to move out from that rock you've been living under and look into it ASAP. She & Him is comprised of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, two very recognizable names on their own merits. Their first combined effort entitled Volume One leaves us on the edge of our seats, wanting and hoping for more "Volumes" to follow. The twelve songs on the collection combine a bit of country twang with a reminiscent sprinkling of the oldies your parents grew up on. Add to that Deschanel's effortlessly dashing voice, and you've got an impressive first collaboration.
