I was hesitant buying this CD. I'm an admirer of Zoey Deschannel as an actress and have adored her singing in several films, like "Bridge To Terabithia" and of course "Elf." This CD has a very retro vibe to it, which is something I crave. It's like finding a new CD with the feel of yesterday's style. Zoey wrote all but 2 songs on the CD, and her uniqueness unfolds at the turn of every song. The style isn't for everyone, but for those who "get it" will be playing this CD on high rotation over and over and over again in your cars for the next several months. I love "She & Him," and their debut CD is awesome. The band's music is kind of folksy, kind of indie, and even a bit country at times, with some golden oldies thrown in there for good measure. Zooey Deschanel has a very unique voice that's whimsical, sweet, and fun to listen to. There are no bad tracks on this CD, but my favorites include "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?," "I Was Made for You," and the cover version of "You Really Gotta Hold On Me." I hope I can see this band perform live one of these days.Free Music Review: Awesomely awesome

I LOVE this album. OK, how could she possibly put a foot wrong with M.Ward ... but this album proves Zooey is an accomplished closet pop star in her own right. She REALLY can sing and adds a very dominating influence over the album's style. I keep thinking quirky Beatles-style mixing, 60's girly pop - but in a very good way. Totally addictive and I would rate in my favourite of 2009.Free Music Review: The best album ever!

I heard this song right after I heard Joseph Gordon Levitt say in an interview that this album was the key to getting into his role in the movie 500 Days of Summer - he fell in love with Zooey Deschanel's voice. As I, and I'm sure, most will fall in love with her as well when they here this album. There is truly no song I don't love on this album. Amazing!Free Music Review: Zooey rocks!

Zooey captures your heart with her soothing vocals and catchy lyrics in this fabulus alblum of irrisible songs. There's no dead space on any of these rocking tracks that make your spirit soar and bring a smile to your face as Zooey enchants and entrances you with her unique, angelic voice. Hopefully Volume II comes out sooner than later. Zooey rocks!
