Canadian Music Store Free Music Notes for Songs & StoriesFree Music Review: They held me down and made me write this review. This album by Shel Silverstein was released in 1978. The only musical accompaniment is Shel playing the acoustic guitar. This is not a children's album, although "Peanut Butter Sandwich" and "Someone Ate the Baby" later appeared in his poetry books for children. Many of the songs have adult themes, such as sex and drugs. The songs are all funny, and many of them will be familiar to listeners of The Dr. Demento Show. "The Smoke Off" in particular is a demented classic. Fans of funny music should enjoy this CD. |
