This album by Shel Silverstein was released in 1978. The only musical accompaniment is Shel playing the acoustic guitar. This is not a children's album, although "Peanut Butter Sandwich" and "Someone Ate the Baby" later appeared in his poetry books for children. Many of the songs have adult themes, such as sex and drugs. The songs are all funny, and many of them will be familiar to listeners of The Dr. Demento Show. "The Smoke Off" in particular is a demented classic. Fans of funny music should enjoy this CD.Free Music Review: Songs and Stories

This man is the ultimate of individualism. Shel has the power to MAKE you laugh out loud. A True artist in every meaning of the word. Funny does not have to be real or even make sense, just be funny. In the dictionary under funny or creative it should have Shel's picture. People NEED this album with the way things are going now. THANKS! Shel!
