Free Music Notes for The Globe SessionsFree Music Review: another amazing album Hit: 5 StarsIs it possible? Can Sheryl Crow really get better with each album? On her third album, the answer to this is "yes, she can." With the singles "My Favorite Mistake", "Anything But Down" and "The Difficult Kind", Sheryl Crow continues to shine, but she is at her best on the album tracks that never make it to the radio. "Mississippi", "Members Only" and "Crash and Burn" are probably the best of the album. If Crow can continue to make albums like this, music fans will be very, very happy.
Free Music Review: A great rock CD!! Hit: 5 StarsThis CD is wonderful! It deserves 50 stars! It's a great CD to listen to everyday. The songs are all great but my personal favorites are:There Goes the Neighborhood and Mississippi. I bought this CD when I was only like 7 and I bought it because my dad and I loved the song:You're my favorite mistake(another one of my favorites)This CD is definitely one of my favorite mistakes. Actually, it wasn't a mistake at all. It one of the best choices I've ever made! GET THIS CD!!!!!!!
Free Music Review: A masterpiece Hit: 5 StarsBefore listening to The Globe Sessions I had no doubt about what was Sheryl's best album, her self-titled second cd, but now I believe The Globe is even better. In all aspects it's an incredible piece of work. There is no filler material - not that there was any in 'Sheryl Crow'.I love all the songs, and don't care if the outlook is grim, as some people have pointed out to dismiss The Globe Sessions. Fave songs include nearly all: My Favorite Mistake, Neighborhood, Riverwide (A serious contender for my all time fave Sheryl Crow song, with its Celtic/Indian interlude), It Don't Hurt, Am I Getting Through (Amazing change of pace at the last minute), Anything but Down, Difficult Kind (Another gorgeous song, probably the best ballad she has written so far), A great version of Bob Dylan's Mississippi, to me better than the original, Members Only and a magnificent Crash And Burn. The music is incredibly well written and performed.Another bonus point is the lyrics. I can relate to some of them and all sound very honest to me. Maybe my review is not as objective as I would like, because I am totally hooked on this album. Given how awful is the bulk of music these days, as it was four years ago, when this masterpiece was put out, it's a must for any fan of good rock and roll. Sheryl had shown what she was made of before, but had never got to shine as much as she does with The Globe Sessions.
Free Music Review: IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER! Hit: 5 StarsThis CD showcases 3 of Crow's 8 career Grammys, winning as Best Rock Album (1) and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance (There Goes the Neighborhood (2) and Sweet Child O' Mine (3)). I've seen Sheryl Crow in concert 4 times and she gets better and better. Britney Spears she ain't. THANK GOD!
Free Music Review: A ROCK ALBUM THAT'S SMART AND MATURE- SHERYL'S BEST! Hit: 4 StarsThis album is a mature album, finely crafted and shows sheryl's growth as an artist. If you're a new fan of Sheryl's, best to skip her new "C'mon, C'mon" album because it might turn you off to music like this. On this album, Sheryl takes full advantage of her vocal ability, which compliments the excellent songwriting. The first track, "Favorite Mistake" sets the tone for the album- fresh with no dissapointments. You'll know you made a good choice.
