Free Music Review: Huge Sheryl Crow Fan Here.... Hit: 5 StarsGranted this isn't my favorite album of Sheryl's, but it's still great! To me, all of her work is beautiful and so are the songs on this album. You can take any of Sheryl's songs and relate it to some part of your life...that's what does it for me!
Free Music Review: Rough Around The Edges Hit: 3 StarsThere are some gems on this album, no doubt, but there are definitely some rough spots. One of Crow's popular songs from this CD, "Leaving Las Vegas" is really not that great of a recording. Compare it to the version that you hear on Live In Central Park, and you'll know what I mean. This CD also really sags in the middle with "Na-Na Song", "No One Said It Would Be Easy", and "What I Can Do For You". It would be the most die-hard of fans that can listen to this CD from start to finish. That being said, there are great songs on this CD the likes of which have not been repeated. The opening track "Run Baby Run" is rich with melancholy, and the bluesy "We Do What We Can" are some of Crow's finest songs. I've been listening to this songs for the last ten years, and I still haven't grown tired of them.
Free Music Review: Aldous Huxley Hit: 5 StarsJust wanted to comment on the official reviewer's characterization of the mention of Huxley in the album's opening line as an attempt for "Significance". In fact the line ("She was born in November 1963, the day that Aldous Huxley died") is actually a wry joke since Huxley died on November 22, 1963 - the same day as President Kennedy. By the way, this is a great and literate album.
