Free Music Notes for Shirley Bassey - The Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Shirley Bassey Is A D*I*A*M*O*N*D That's Forever! Hit: 5 StarsSHIRLEY BASSEY:GREATEST HITS is a wonderful introduction to this great songstress.
I absolutely loved it. Bassey has that unusual voice that people know when they hear it and it's riveting. The tracks that stand out for me are:
"Diamonds Are Forever," "(Where Do I Begin)Love Story," "What Now My Love" and of course "Goldfinger."
If you like this you might also like:The Remix Album: Diamonds Are Forever (this might be the older version here's the updated one The Remix Album... Diamonds Are Forever). That cd has Bassey's standards that have been remixed by current hot producers/djs so it gives the songs an updated flair...not that they needed it.
Free Music Review: 4 stars Hit: 4 StarsThis isn't a CD that I could listen to everyday, but it's great when the mood strikes you.
Free Music Review: Shirley Bassey - A Songstress Extraordinare! Hit: 5 StarsWe discovered the fabulous Shirley Bassey over twenty years ago.
Remarkable voice, incredible range, a certain cachet of her own with
lyrics and melodies. In the recent past, in recognition of her amazing voice, and as a citizen of the United Kingdom, Ms. Bassey was honored by Queen Elizabeth. We continue to listen with pleasure as Ms. Bassey's unique voice fills our home.
Free Music Review: Through the years with Shirley Hit: 5 StarsYou cannot be over 30, and listen to this amazing woman sing, without her vocals evoking a flood of memories. It's a 'trip' you really must take!
Free Music Review: Shirley Bassey - The Greatest Hits Hit: 3 StarsI discovered Shirley Bassey's music in such an odd way - after years of hearing snippets of her songs used in commercials, last season, 3 American Idol finalists sang her songs so I finally had the name to go along with the distinctive voice!
MY FAVORITE TRACKS ARE:
Diamonds Are Forever, Moonraker, Something, (Where Do I Begin) Love Story, As Long As He Needs Me and I (Who Have Nothing) - each track displays her vocal talent while History Repeating & Big Spender are fun tracks where she uses more "ooomph" & "va-va-voom" than purely singing.
The (Where Do I Begin) Love Story (Away Team Mix) & Goldfinger (Propellerheads Mix) are also outstanding tracks.
To some, American Idol is a cheesy reality show but if it can lead me to great vocalists with fun, pop music like Shirley Bassey then I say, give me an extra helping of cheese!
