Free Music Notes for The Wolf

Free Music Review: outlaw country lives
Hit: 4 Stars

It shouldn't amaze me that a lot of people are missing out on Shooter's music, but it does. Yes, he has snubbed his nose at the music business(which doesn't have a clue about real music), but his talent clearly shines. The industry was shocked by Shooter's dad, and Shooter has taken the outlaw movement to a new level.
This third release is more country than the last two, but a lot of "country" these days is more southern rock than a lot of classic southern rock.
The song I must mention is the remake of "Walk of Life". The original (even though I love Dire Straits) annoyed me to no end. Something about it was just too bouncy and well, annoying. When I saw it on the albumn I was leary, but it truly is the way the song should have been originally!

Free Music Review: Another great album....
Hit: 4 Stars

I thought this album was great, and if you loved Shooter's past two albums, you should love this one as well. Some of the songs that stand out the most are Walk of LIfe, Old Friend, She lives in Color, The Wolf, and A matter of time. All of the songs are good, though I'm not that fond of the first song. I gave this alubm 4 stars, because I thought his past two albums were more original and the songs were more solid and stood out more. But this album is still great and definitely worth buying. This album is also very well rounded, every song is good (except track 1).

If you're a Shooter Jennings fan you can not afford to not get this album....

Free Music Review: Dont waste your money
Hit: 1 Stars

There is not a good song on this album, Shooter would have never made it with out his daddys name.

Free Music Review: Dont waste your money
Hit: 1 Stars

This is by far the worst cd I have ever wasted my money on, good thing Waylon did'nt suck this bad. Shooter is only riding on his late fathers coattails.

Free Music Review: Pretty Darn Good...
Hit: 5 Stars

I was so excited for this album to come out--I think I bought it the first day...I ripped it open, jammed it in the CD player, and was immediately reassured that Shooter hadn't done anything "weird" to change his style. This IS a Shooter Jennings album delivered in the style we fans have come to love and expect from him. I've noticed the comments about all of his songs sounding like a Waylon or Hank song...well, who do you think were Shooter's biggest influences in the realm of music growing up? Come on! Of course he's adopted some of that same savy gritt, but he's also ADAPTED it to make a sound all his own. Any artist who claims to be 100% original, with no outside influences is a liar, and any person who places that kind of expecation on an artist is a fool. I admit, "Put the O Back in Country" is still my favorite of all his albums thus far due mainly to tracks 2, 4, and 8, but "The Wolf" is rapidly gaining. If you've heard anything by Shooter, and liked it, this album is for you. Not a bad song on it.
