Free Music Review: Solid new material

Those new to Shriekback should not probably start here, but for fans this is a solid set of new material. While the first half is stronger than the second, all the tracks are enjoyable and exhibit the band's typical craftsmanship and attention to detail. Since the band is basically just Barry Andrews and Martyn Barker at this point, expect material that slots in with "Naked Apes & Pond Life" and "Glory Bumps".

Shriekback are here in 2008 with their eagerly awaited 10th album. It is provoking and seducing in equal measures, a soulful, insistent and sometimes riotous collection of songs and distracting instrumentals.
