This is a good introduction to Sibelius's symphonies at an affordable price. It conveys the mystery inherent in the music fairly well. If you are a Sibelius enthusiast, however, you may want to investigate other conductors -- Ashkenazy, Barbirolli, Bernstein, Davis, Karajan, Vanska -- and find your favorite performance for each symphony. That's what I did, and I haven't regretted it. There are many great versions of these symphonies. Maazel is a nice start.
