Free Music Notes for Hvarf / Heim (Dig)Free Music Review: If you haven't listened to this, your life is incomplete. Hit: 5 Stars
As a fan of Sigur Rós, this is an absolute must-listen - especially the "Heim" portion, which consists of six acoustic tracks. If you've never had the transcendent experience of seeing them live, the live portion of this release a necessity. You won't get confetti blown out of cannons to the theater ceiling or the haunting silence of an audience in awe, but on a loud enough stereo it's the next best thing.
Free Music Review: Great new (old) CD Hit: 5 Stars
Awesome CD, I had heard most of the songs in their original formats years ago - but that doesn't take anything away from this masterpiece. It would have been great to try and squeeze all the songs onto 1 CD but I guess that wasn't possible; it's a pain in the neck to keep getting up when listening to such relaxing music.
One of my favorite CDs of 2007
Free Music Review: Nails Hit: 5 Stars
"If you've looked up this recording , you're probably familiar with the band. If you're familiar with the band , you probably like the band. If you like the band , you'll enjoy this release. Buy it now". Hey Jeff Z, you hit the nail on the head, you drove the proverbial nail in the coffin, and in the words of Veronica Corningstone you "nailed it"!
Free Music Review: waiting... Hit: 5 Stars
As some reviewers have noted, this isn't a "mainstream" release, but a worthwhile addition to one's collection while waiting for a follow-up to Takk...
Why 5 stars? A lesser album by Sigur Ros is still better than the best from other bands. (IMO, anyway)
~ More details later, as I get to know the album better. :-)
Free Music Review: iceland rules Hit: 5 Stars
This group offers sounds from the edge of the world and does so in a compelling and transcendent style which reflects, in a auditory, symbolic way, the austere yet magnificent beauty of Iceland itself.
Get it and listen.
