Free Music Review: All Grown Up

It's simple really. If you're a fan of Simple Plan, you will appreciate how they have grown musically and lyrically, and you will love this album. If you didn't like Simple Plan before, you're probably not going to like them now. I think this album is amazing, definitely as good as their sophomore album, but better in some ways. I think this album is more punk/rock then the previous album, which was very pop punk.
1. Shut Up! - This is the song that you will be singing for weeks after you hear it. The chorus is simple yet incredibly catchy. I really like this song because of the upbeat music, and the feel-good lyrics. It's a good song to listen to if you are dealing with people who think they're better then you.
2. Welcome To My Life - This is the first single off of this c.d., and a well chosen one. It's slightly edgier then what we've heard from Simple Plan before, yet familiar enough that Simple Plan fans aren't going to feel the band has totally changed. I love this song. I think that so many people can relate to it. And although some people seem to be of the opinion that teenagers have only artificial problems to deal with, some of us have had to deal with the real issues. This song really reaches out to those of us who have literally been alone and left out.
3. Perfect World - Very nice song, not one of my favourites, though I'm not sure why. Good lyrics though, and very well sung. A little harder then most S.P songs, but in a very good way.
4. Thank You - This is very familiar territory. This song reminds me a lot of songs from S.P's first c.d., but again with a bit more edge.
5. Me Against The World - This is one of the songs on the album that I didn't particularly like. The music didn't really appeal to me. However, I think this song will really appeal to those who feel that they have to prove something to the world.
6. Crazy - I absolutely love this song. This is definitely one of the best songs on the album. I really agree with the lyrics of the song. This is why I love Simple Plan, because they often sing about real issues in the world that people, especially teenagers, can relate to (Perfect, Welcome To My Life, Crazy)
7. Jump - This is just a very upbeat feel-good song. It's just one of those songs that makes you want to do exactly what it says, jump. If you don't like S.P, you'll probably want to puke...but then that's your problem.
8. Everytime - This is my favourite song on this album. I think it's a really beautiful song, very emo like. I really hope this becomes a single, because I think it will be very successful. If you're not sure about this album, I would definitely recommend listening to this song. Even if you don't like S.P you will probably enjoy this song.
9. Promise - This is another upbeat feel-good song. I like it, but I don't listen to it too much.
10. One - This is another really good song on this album. The music and the lyrics are (in my opinion) inspirational and motivational. Very good song, could be another good single, I'd love to see a video for this song.
11. Untitled - This is an amazing song. I love this song, it seems a shame that it's untitled. It's very emotional, and a very powerful song. I would rank it up there with Something Corporate's "Konstantine", and that is saying something for me because that song is hands down the best emo song ever in existence.
So, to sum up. Buy this album if you're an S.P fan. If you're not, give a listen to "Everytime, One, Crazy, and/or Untitled. Check it out and see if you like it. The boys have definitely grown with this album.
