The CD is pretty good. I mean, if you've seen Sister Act II and you like the music, then you'll love the CD.
MY ONLY BEEF IS... I searched literally for HOURS trying to just buy a single from this CD, "Oh Happy Day." It is NOT on iTunes or anywhere else on the internet. If someone can find it, please let me know. There is some false advertising out there from other websites who SAY they have it, but when you go to purchase it, they make you buy the whole friggin CD. Grr.
But yes, if you're looking for the whole CD, it's fine. Lauryn Hill was in her prime back then. I wish she'd do a gospel CD. Her voice was created for that style!

When I watched this movie, I loved it. Oh my god, I have practically learned all the dance moves to "Joyful Joyful" at the end of the movie. I thought all of the gospel hymns were incredible once sung by these children. But when I listened to the soundtrack, it was nothing like the movie. Sure it was the same songs... but it was sung differently. You could tell it was recorded in a studio, and not right on the spot. I enjoyed it much better when sung in the movie, then on the soundtrack.Free Music Review: Good

I like this album a lot. There's some really great gospel inspired music on it, as well as some updated versions of classic songs
