Free Music Notes for Six Feet Under, Volume Two: Everything Ends - Music from the HBO Original SeriesFree Music Review: the only thing missing is..... Hit: 5 Stars
there's nothing more cliche than saying you don't know what ya got till it's gone but i will be feeling that way for a long time after seeing the final episode of Six Feet Under. This cd is tremendous. It has several genres but any true SFU fan will love it. My personal favorite is Breathe Me as i'm driving down the road getting chills reliving the finale of the final episode as Claire drives off. HBO did a 2 part retrospective right before the final episode and the Death Cab for Cutie song was prevalent throughout. It is awesome. I like Time is on my Side and Feeling Good better than I thought I would when I bought it. These songs just take me back in a great way. The one song I think is really missing from this collection is Calling All Angels by Jane Siberry with KD Lang. the moment at the end of the episode in which Nate's first love, Fiona has passed away when ruth begins to sing this song acapella with the other women joining in was beautiful. I love this Cd and would recommend to any devout SFU fan. I could listen to it all day long.
Free Music Review: Wonderful soundtrack to a wonderful show Hit: 5 Stars
Anyone who has watched Six Feet Under for the past five seasons knows how addicting it was. Complicated characters facing lifes problems with varying degrees of success. Sometimes you loved them, sometimes you hated them (stop whining Claire!!)but you always came back for more.
This soundtrack is full of the same emotion the show gave us, with Sia's "Breathe Me" an obvious standout. Who can forget the ending montage with her song in the backdrop?
This soundtrack is produced with the same originality and thoughtfulness that was the show. Where else can you find Nina Simone and the Arcade Fire on the same cd and love them both? We may not have the show anymore, but at least we have the soundtrack. Good stuff.
Free Music Review: Even better than Vol. 1 Hit: 5 Stars
Volume 2 of the Soundtrack for "Six Feet Under" simply blows Volume 1 out by going a step beyond what its predecessor did. Incorporating a balanced combination of the best of the indie world at the time of its release (Death Cab for Cutie, The Arcade Fire, Interpol, etc.) with a handful of recent classics (Radiohead's "Lucky" and Coldplay's "Rush of Blood to the Head") and an opening track by Nina Simone from 1965, the album brings great memories from an even greater TV show that we will miss sorely.
Listening to it is reliving the series all over again, such as with the case of "Breathe Me" by Sia, which gets played as Claire drives away at the end of the last episode. Get it and keep it for good.
Free Music Review: Great soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
I'm probably one of the few people who couldn't get into the tv series SIX FEET UNDER. I tried but I just couldn't get into the show however I always liked the music that they used in the series. While I did enjoy the first SIX FEET UNDER soundtrack, the second volume is my personal favorite. Like the soundtrack to GARDEN STATE, SIX FEET UNDER VOL. 2: EVERYTHING captures that mixed tape feel with its eclectic collection of artists ranging from jazz great Nina Simone to alternative rock heroes The Arcade Fire. I personally like the varied sounds on the soundtrack. The diverse sound certainly captured the essence of the dark mood of the show. There was not one song on the soundtrack that I did not like.
Free Music Review: fantastic compilation Hit: 5 Stars
As a huge fan of Six Feet Under, I was hopeful that I would like the soundtrack cds as well--even though they include a lot of songs I wouldn't normally go out and buy. I was pleasantly surprised by Volume 2--it's as haunting and enjoyable as the series. I bought the cd because I really wanted the song from the last sequence in the series finale (Breathe Me by Sia), and I am happy to have discovered that I can listen to the cd all the way through! The songs definitely evoke moments from the show, although I think I would like the cd even if I had never seen the show--it's a great mix, and I haven't taken it out of my cd player since I bought it!
