Free Music Review: the music is part of the reason the show is so great

This CD represents everything that is so good about the show. It's worth it just to get the theme song (and two versions of it) but "Heaven" and "Waiting" are two more reasons to buy. There is also a bonus track - "Yummu Yummy Yummy" covered by Julie London. One thing I don't like: this CD comes in cardboard, not the plastic packaging. I'm all for saving money and the environment, but if a CD comes in cheap packaging, I feel that the consumer should see some of those savings. Anyway, if you love the show, you'll love this eclectic mix of music.Free Music Review: Coolest show on TV and now great music too!

I was addicted to the HBO show, "Six Feet Under", the first time I watched it. Totally new and fresh, it captured my interest and hasn't let me down yet. The title theme music to the show was really good and I kept telling my friends that I wished they'd release a soundtrack and now, luckily, we have one. Full of diversity, like the characters of the show, we are given a real musical treat. If you haven't watched the show, by all means, give it a try! And once you get hooked, you realize how bad you want this soundtrack too!Free Music Review: Haunting, Thrilling Music

The first time I heard the show's opening theme song with that eerie oboe I thought to myself this is going to be a BIG hit! The pizzicatto of the strings section also lends to that eeriness.My one most absolute favorite scenes of the show is when David is vacuuming while thinking to himself and then all of a sudden he's breaking out into a song and dance of, "Lotta Livin' To Do." I just broke up with laughter and could,t stop! It's was the most funiest thing I've seen on TV in a long time. Timmay!

I love this show,but when I saw the soundtrack I kind of did not want it because I did not know who 90% of the singers were. I got it anyways and I am so glad I took the chance becuase this CD never leaves my CD player. I love how they have like 60's music with some modern hip hop,pop,R&b,rock,and even a latin flavor. This is a great album if you like a bunch of styles of music on one album, and if you do I would tell you to get this album. This soundtrack is truely great on many different levels. If you are a fan of the show, than the soundtrack very clearly mimics the emotions and essence of Six Feet Under. If you aren't a fan, than the soundtrack can simply be a collection of great music. The CD spans a variety of different styles: the classic Peggy Lee, eclectic Beta Band, Stereo MC, PJ Harvey, etc. It is the type of album that you can listen to from start to finish. It is a great collection to accompany a phenominal show.
