Free Music Review: Mix of Reggae and Metal

Skindred was a very rare band that I had never heard of before I heard "Nobody" on the radio. I was amazed at this extremely unique sound I was hearing. I enjoy Metal Music, but I am often bored due to it all mostly sounding too similar. Skindred brought a completely new style to my ears. They blend Reggae and Metal with a few other elements and create a ton of great songs. You'll get your handbanging goodness in songs like Nobody and Bruises, but you'll also find more Reggae filled music in other songs.
I can't say that I loved all of the songs and admit that they will get old eventually. If you are a fan of Metal, you owe it to yourself to check out this new take on the genre. If you aren't a Metal Fan then this CD also has some very mellow tones on it.

Hailing from South Wales, Skindred is a four-piece heavy rock n' reggae outfit founded by eclectic, energetic vocalist Benji Webbe and fellow bassist-programmer, Daniel Pugsley. "Skindred is dancehall; it's punk; it's metal, it's who we are," Pugsley proclaims. It's a cohesive nether-region where Bounty Killa meets the Police - where 311 and System Of A Down collide. From the drum & bass album opener "Set It Off" to the metalized toasting on the title track "Babylon," Skindred's reggae-fied metal, dreadhead dub is a musical sucker-punch to the ribs. The first single from Babylon, "Nobody," is a genre-bending, high-octane hybrid of dancehall and metal that is sure to transport rock fans to a higher level of consciousness.
