Free Music Notes for Too Dark ParkFree Music Review: A Masterpiece Hit: 4 Stars
I bought this CD because a women I photographed had the Skinny Puppy logo tattoed on her arm. I figured the band must be pretty... good to have the logo written on her body, and I was right. I've bought many Skinny Puppy CD's since then, but I still think this is the best. The mix of pounding rythym, industrial sounds, bits and pieces of movies and news broadcasts, along with the intense vocals, make this as powerful and inventive as any music created in this century. Morpheus Laughing in particular is a masterpiece...

Too Dark Park is a well chiseled industrial album full of heavy disciplined mayhem! Not too many other industrial bands have the ability of keeping due measure. Crafted with such intensity, that is David Ogilvies' nature. Well introduced, though with some minor low fi beats initialy, this album continues to pick up speed and progress non-stop! Good stuff, the album fits the fashion of industrial rock. Cool to listen to after experiencing live perfromances of Ogre with ministry in both 88 and 89!

One of my favourite Skinny Puppy releases. It marks, in my opinion, the end of an era. Though I enjoy the releases after this album, it was at this point that I think Skinny Puppy had reached the end of their "original" sound. Everything after this seems almost to be an afterthought. I don't think it is as good as Rabies, but still an excellent album.

For early-era, brutishly blossoming, repetitiously shrill industrial, this layered affair still only deserves a percentage of accolades it receives.
